zhangyue, edward and sebboh, valuable advice and tips, very helpful thanks a lot! I am now beginning to grasp the ecosystem. It appears that I can get a decent scan of a roll for around 15-20€ here (8, 13 or 20MB) and TIFF is "just" 2€ extra (I assume it's 16-bit). Now I just wonder how many rolls it takes before I dare to post here, I am now on image 25 in the first 36 roll :-)

sebboh, do I need to tell you I *really* like the shot of your daughter?
Zaits, I have no clue about the details you give are but I really like that dreamy dog portrait.
Katie, very nice still still. But "La Grange", I though it was a ZZ top riff legend, now I know better :-)
WFrank ... where did you find that map I swear my house is on there; the file is huge, so I can't get it to upload, but I've got a great big old house that was built by one of the founding families here.
Here's another from the Mamiya (same roll) - I'm working on "movement" right now, so it's another long exposure.
Thanks wfrank. You ought to know what that gibberish means, you are in the film thread!
sebboh: Are you using tonal contrast or structure on the sky in that photo? Reason I ask is because I can see faint concentric circles and I know I've seen that happen on my photos. Perhaps it's something else though.

Great photos zalmy, especially the second.
I was wondering if it was a finger print on the neg or something, but I can't see it in the full sized file no matter how much I jack up clarity. I think it is a weird side effect of my heavy handed downsizing algorithm.
I like that. Next time I get a road trip planned, which may not be for a while, I'll have to try and make it out that way.
I'm not usually a fan of heavy sepia toning but it looks great here. I wish XP2 was available in 4x5. The author of Way Beyond Monochrome rates it very highly. Actually, I wish I could just shoot 4x5 and 8x10 Portra and convert it whenever.

Weird - I have seen 6s with all three lenses sell for about the same as 7s with just two lenses (neither of which are the pricy UWAs).
I don't know this guy, but cough cough hack wheeze cough...

Hopefully I can photograph landscapes soon.
Take it to the streets! People who have a moment are always curious about "old looking" cameras. Pflitz (sic) posted a great series with his RZ that probably would have been a lot trickier with a digital camera.
SILVERMAX has an increased silver-content compared to regular films.
This enables him to built up twice as much DMAX and reproduce up to 14 zones in our dedicated SILVERMAX Developer.
This way SILVERMAX catches it all for you: brightest highlights and deepest shaddows.
This is from Monument Valley. A #29 and a #25 Wratten on T-Max 100. RZ and a 50mm lens. I've always loved the tonality of the rocks on this neg. Drum scanned, of course. Or perhaps a nice Velvia from a similar location.
