I brought one roll of TMax 100 back from Paris. I would have used it there but the advance in my Retina IIa kept jamming and broke a roll of film. Paul Barden has fixed it since my return. I bought a second roll of TMX so I could use the two reel tank and decided to do it it Rodinal.
I was watching a John Finch video about using Rodinal. A viewer had sent him a small bottle of grain reducer and he put it to the test. It worked prettly well, with some caveats. It does reduce overall contrast and it needs an increase of 25% in development time. It looked like it was worth a try so off to the hardware store for some Borax and roach killer (boric acid). These are mixed with salt and disolved in warm water. These are the first scans. TMax 100 is fine grain but some images really benefited, others look like cr@p. I'll try it again with some Tri-X or HP-5 and see if it helps.
