I've always wanted a black one, and stupidly passed on one on ebay last week that sold for $400 with all the bits n pieces. By the time I decided to get it, it was gone..
My chrome one is v nice, and has the vestigial hood etc. There's one for sale on FM, but it has a wobbly focus tab and big glue stain.
If yours had the missing hood, I'd thumb wrestle you to exchange it for my silver one. But it doesn't, le sigh.
Even without the shorty hood, this one's a keeper. I go back a forth between it and my $400 Summilux ( Voigtlander 50 1.5 Nokton ASPH V1) The collapsible 50 2.0 Heliar makes a showing on special occasions. The 50mm is the focal length the one I use the least often and own three different lenses.
I took this a few years with a Rollei Prego film camera. I still use the Rollei camera when I want to go back and use a fairly simple film camera, and the reason I'm posting it here is that the film used is one you can still get today, Kodak Ektar 100 speed film. It's a film that really loves to show color and is easy to use, sort of like the old Kodachrome.
I had some other photos that were part of this roll that really showed the brilliance, some colorful parrots I took, but they were just too big of size and I'm not in the mood to make them smaller right now.

It's film, who knows what the settings were at the time?
