but seriously, following this tread, I sold off my 5d's and all of my ef-s lenses to come up with the cash for today! I am upset. I shouldn't believe what I read on the internet anymore ....lesson learned. lol

New Canon bodies are coming out on April 27th....NOT!
Really, really...don't believe what you read on these forums about release dates. These people know nothing more then you and I....

This is supposed to be the Canon web page in Germany showing the new baby.
Cheers.
Basically it says 16 mp, 6.5 FPS, weatherproof construction, Digic III. Sounds more like the prevailing wish list than a real release spec. My take is the 40D is working as hard as it can to pump those 10 mp into the buffer and onto the card. 16MP is an increase in size of 60% so it would seem logical that a 5D MkII frame rate would be limited to 40% of what the 40D is capable of - which puts it at a more modest 4-5 fps. Still a welcome change but it makes this spec suspect IMHO.

Jon
Doesn't Canon advertise when it's going to have a press conference? I think it is so and if I'm right, we need to look for these dates first, and only then speculate on its content.
Well I have got my new Canon 5D Mark III for 3 days now!!! and I am loving this camera performance. It is water tight to up to 30 feet under water and shooting at 300,000 ISO is a joy ride! The 300 megapixel files are a little hard to manage but.... Just kidding
And what I am seeing is what a drastic sham the value at 50% on existing 5D's are. I think for what my 5D is capable of I'll wait for another cycle. The improvements are not that dramatic for my style of shooting.
