I've got a Canon EOS Elan II E body that has a broken latch for the film back. It powers up fine and seems to function OK. It isn't in mint condition by any means but if someone wants a working film body, It's yours for $5 shipping.
I would think that you could duct tape it closed. I even have a couple of rolls of film that are in my fridge and two batteries!
I did offer this to dantakesphotos who was recently looking for film cameras for a school but that individual never took the time to respond.
Received the remainder of Tom Harpstead's eclectic group of photo items today. Have to say I really like the Brownie Cardboard Safelight complete in original box with newpaper packing from Dec 1938. Very cool.

I hate to spoil the good intent of this thread. I sent money to Rodolfo Paiz immediately after he confirmed that I was getting the book. I have not recd. the book yet (as of 2/4/10) which is fine (it was being given away free and he can change his mind at any time) but I have made several attempts to contact Rodolfo but he has not responded to a single PM. He did acknowledge that he recd. the money I sent him for shipping.
Rodolfo, if you do not have the book all you need to do is respond saying you no longer have the book, especially since you have the money from me for shipping. You atleast owe me a response and refund my money however insignificant the amt is.
