Jim, and anyone else that flies quad-copters, here is a challenge for you.
VFR...
This was at a wedding and the operator was dodging guests up-raised arms/cameras while the bride was walking down the aisle. I learned that many Indian weddings are quite the production and the government is considering levying a "luxury" tax.
BTW, I really enjoyed seeing your take from Pensacola this year!! I was floating in the water on Saturday, enjoying the company of close friends. It doesn't have the vantage point of the beach or pier, but it sure beats fighting everyone else.
Thanks everyone, the voting is live now. Teased by all the good smelling food zipping by me while I was there, and really distracted by the BBQ meatballs for the private party there, I wound up going to my daughter's house afterwards, where I was treated to a steak dinner. Also got in a good nine hours sleep straight, so it's off to do those mundane chores known as laundry and grocery shopping.
And Leo, I watched someone last weekend trying to get their drone under the tent at Celtic Festival, above a crowd. All I could think of is if that thing decided to drop. It was one of the small ones like the one in your photo.
This is the Citation Encore that I photographed recently in San Antonio and it was 102 degrees on the ramp that day, but I wouldn't trade it for a thing! Getting to be around airplanes is just such a special feeling, similar to being a kid in a candy store, if you ask me.
Heading to Bismarck, ND on Monday to photograph a Falcon 50EX that will be on the cover of Executive Controller in a couple of months, and a Beechjet, too. Looking forward to some cooler temperatures up there, for certain!
Eight whirling razor blades Laura, that's what I see every time I fire mine up. I don't think many of these folks give the liability a thought, but it's there regardless. Think a million bucks in liability coverage is enough to be flying a drone above and amongst a crowd? Drop in the bucket if things go awry.
Pack your woolies, Jay. It's a lot cooler up north. Have layers, particularly at dawn.

I'm going to let someone who has an inside track at the festival know what was going on, so hopefully there's never that item in the news about any drone going wild there. Seeing how the festival has an alcohol distributor as one of its sponsors... there's lots of beer flowing from open to just before close.
My favorite airplane is the Christen Eagle. I've owned for for a year and a half and never flown it due to time and various MX issues - hope to have it flying in the next couple weeks and finally solo it.
This year is the 40th anniversary of the Eagle. Considered to be one of the most successful and popular homebuilt kitplanes ever. There was a large gathering of Eagles at Oshkosh this year - almost 30 made it there. Sadly mine didnt. but I at least got to shoot some eagles while there!
