Well …. it’s been nearly a year since I last posted! I came to that realisation whilst writing my Christmas cards – since my last post was …. a Christmas card…. Hummm.
For reasons various and mundane I don’t do much photograph these days, but I do want you all to know that I check in here every day and I very much appreciate all your wonderful work.
So, this years card is a fine example of the huge difference between a technically correct exposure and a representation of what I had in my minds eye. I’ve chased this thing in post for years – yes – years, and I’m still not sure about it. Oh well.

Merry Christmas Harry, and you too Santa...
Got my new camera for black friday and still haven't used it except in the house and back yard when it's not raining.

1st snow of the season here Bill! Just a light dusting on the grassy areas and roofs but nice! 2" of rain yesterday! Miserable out!

Ansel was correct when he said "F/8 and Be There!" It was well into dusk when I shot this Raptor and it would have been a ho-hum image but a huge bank of thunderstorms was building to the east and they were high enough that they caught some light from the sun that was way below the western horizon. I guess this is a shot that answers the question we are asked so often about why we keep going back to shoot the same subjects, it's because they are never "the same".
