I apologize for my absence, been overwhelmed with work and a honey do list for our granddaughters nuptials over the weekend.
No need to apologize Jim! The members here know your "work ethic" so absence is noticable but not worrisome...yet! !
This is one of the most beat up helmets I have seen this year. The full back who wears it had just come off the practice field so I asked it it was just a practice helmet. He is a very soft spoken lad but must be very fierce on the field. He told me it was his practice and game helmet, the only one he had. He said he also plays during field goals and extra points so it gets hit a lot. No kidding, there is almost no paint left on the grill (mask).
I don't know the particulars, but he was landing and still smoking down that runway, through the fence and on to Virginia Parkway. $800,000 down the tubes, but everyone was ok. That aircraft has an 800' landing roll at gross and the runway at Aero Country is 4,000'. Looked like he was doing 60 or 70 knots in the last half of the runway, maybe he touched down mid field and just couldn't get it slowed down. He had a pressurization failure an hour before but continued on and that shouldn't have had any effect on landing.
Anyone got any Canon camera bodies ya might be selling soon ?
Looking at a used 5DsR on here for bout $850 or a new R8 for $1039
On the fence about what to get and budget isn't to high right now.
Would really like the R6II
I have to give the FAA an attaboy for their drone support. I put in for an authorization to fly in a zero sector right off Perot Field's west runway, my approval came back in less than 24 hours. I'm going to need to fly that site at least once a month so it's nice to know that they are on their toes.
A grateful nod to my Buddy Mike Brewington, I just looked at my drone work for the past 60 days and it seems that my Mavic 3 paid for itself three times over in that period.....pretty good ROI, for a guy who didn't want to fly drones............

Either you are lucky or they are just checking the boxes. I have heard several in the FAA talk about how they are overloaded.
I even talked to my brother about the mechanic situation. They are considering cutting the training period down to one year of classroom instruction. When I got my approval I had to have two years on the job experience or 3 years classroom for the A&P. I had the two years experience. I don't know!🤷

Jim, I’m a bit concerned that either you paid too much for the Mavic or your rates are too low but on the other hand, it has been fun watching you step out of your comfort zone🤔🤔
