Had a gathering to shoot for a client this evening, largely just working a crowd, grip'n'grin stuff. They had a guy from Miami rolling custom cigars, all of a sudden an alarm went off and I saw more than grip'n'grins............
A fine capture Jim!
And hand rolled Cuban cigars? I dont smoke but they say they beat anything made in the US of A!
Hope my buddy is better! Prayers are out for his quick recovery!
Dan
Thanks Dan. The guy from Miami had the touch, you could tell by how he handled the tobacco leaves as he assembled each cigar. I could see a cool video coming together as he went through the different steps. That was not my mission last night so that vision came and went. I realized that I have experienced a transition of sorts though, remember five or six years ago when I lamented not being able to "see" video? Everything that I envisioned was in still image compositions, now I see cinematic footage where I only saw still shots.............progress.
Oh, thank you for the thoughts and prayers, James' chest X-ray was close to normal today, thank you, thank you! He's still not very hungry and has lost five or six pounds, which is a lot on his little frame, but he's on the mend.
Hard to believe that Canon is releasing a Version II of their RF 70-200/2.8 lens, which hasn't been readily available until recently. Th Elena features internal zoom, but after I shelled out for the RF 70-200/2.8 I, the II will be a hard pas for me.
Dan, happy birthday! I will be 60 in 5 months, hard to believe
I found as we get older time accelerates too fast. What use to take maybe an hour, now takes 2!! It is called the "Old Folks Boogie"(Little Feat).."the mind makes promises that the body can't fill!"

I use and LOVE Canon's 70-200f2.8 EF lenses(versions). My most sharp zoom and most used Jim.
I think your upgrade would be well worth it IMHO!
D
I agree. The 70-200/2.8 is a staple, I have had every version. Having just purchased the RF version I less than a year ago, I'm not sure the internal zoom on the series II makes much difference to me. The optics and performance will be identical I would guess.
Had a little time to kill yesterday so I found a location that I hav never shot from before. Reason #10 for investing in an RF 600/4, you cn shoot through a chain link fence and it will completely disappear.................
Here one of the few.
Think I did something wrong did make a back up on the road but it seems it did only copied half of the photo's that I did take, And I probably didn't check if I had everything.
So I have only some static and few race photo's and no Unlimited flying.
tried recovery but no joy.
Time to have a good think over if I want to continue this, and maybe another visit to the doc to see If there is something we can do to improve physical and maybe mental.
To say that I'm disappointed is a understatement.
But life goes on enjoy the Sunday.
Thunderbird such a beautiful restoration.

So sorry Jan Arie, been there done that, sickening feeling. Did you blank your cards? The fog of travel, rushing, and sometimes when you roll through the 10,000 frame turnover, all contribute to that happening. As far as your endurance, let's start a club, I find myself devising ways to power through what I have to do, but I have no where near the stamina that I had pre-covid. Might just be a coincidence and being 74 for the first time in my life, but I know how you're feeling, don't push it. That's hard advice to follow when one is use to full afterburner.

You're right Jim how many times did we discussed this, don't do stuff like this when you're tired.
Downloaded the recovery software from the card manufacturer and let it run while is was at my mom for dinner.
So I did it and entered at canon files and it came up blank.
Let it run again, but then with all file's known to them and now it recovered about 75%
I have to try the other card to see what's left there.
I had some beautiful take off shots of Plum Crazy but it looks like I have lost them.
Will run the other card just to be sure.
So guys buy some more cards and
download them when your home.
To be continued.
The Stamina, endurance thing is definitely covid releated but age has definitely something to do with it can't deny that.
Will see were that ship runs a ground

I know that feeling Jan Arie, it stings. Being mad at yourself is almost worse than the disappointment over the lost images. I hope you can pull a few more from the abyss. Glad you are home safe and sound Buddy. Don't be too hard on yourself, we've all done it, and will most likely do it again.

Sage advice! We have all been there. I spent a lot of time backing up in the evenings, and after a long day in the heat and sun, its easy to make a mistake. I hope that the recovery software works, and great image BTW.
