I thought that, for the first time since 1980, I had finally actually worn out a Canon camera. This morning I grabbed the R5 for while on a shoot for an oilfield equipment designer/fabricator and the camera was DOA. Every once in a while it would clunk and then go dead again. When I got home I did some triage and discovered that my trusty R5 had not failed, but a couple year old Angelbird 512 CF Express Type B was the culprit. I am in the process of seeing how Angelbird honors their warranty.
I was pretty bummed because the last thing I wanted to do was buy another R5/R5C when I know that I'll be buying at least two new bodies early next year when Canon finally starts pumping them out. Color me relieved!...Show more →
I know I’ll sound crazy but I always have cards from two separate vendors in my cameras. That’s what a network guy does; two circuits from two different providers. Hey, even paranoids have enemies…

#1 is super brother! Now I thought you were on a birthday vacation?
No hot tub shots?
Have fun!
I am, you can see the ocean and hot tub in last three shots, just had to go thru road closures to get here that added another two hours from all the fires, couldn't pass up that chopper droppin water on hot spots, we also make parts for Croman.

Notice we are on page 911...and it's almost 9-11
Hello old friends!
Life has kept me away from the camera for the last few years...
However, I have the opportunity to go to Reno for what seems to be the final running of the annual air races there. There is a group of us going to celebrate a close friends 50th Birthday, but I'm bound and determined to capture some images as well while we are there. We will be at Reno-Stead on Thursday and Friday.
Will anyone else be at the races this year? It would be great to see some old friends from the Red Flag 2010 days, and make some new friends as well!
Great to have you back! Jan Arie will be there from the Netherlands, don't know of anyone else from our group that might be going. Have a great time and post some images when you get time.

I know you are Bill. I was just jokin' with ya!
ENJOY yourself!
Flyboy,
You enjoy Reno! In Japan the moment so not going to make this one but one of these years I need to get to the air races. The Stihl entry, One Moment is flown by a previous co-worker, Andy Findley. Andy is an awesome individual, very friendly and super leader. If you get a moment it would be worth you time to stop in the pits and say hi to him and his team. Tell him Dan Nehmer said hi.
