Went to Martinsburg, WV yesterday for a small airshow, no BA nor TB, the F-22 is the main draw. I don't think I had seen an Ac-130 gunship in the air before until yesterday.
Oh a great capture Douglas! The AC47(single rear "chain gun") was the backbone of close air support when I served in Vietnam. Then mainly the AC-130U Spooky and AC-130W Stinger II later(1969). In 1967, my 1st year, the AC47 was my main CAS(close air support). It had its limitations but those limitations did not affect my teams operation. It did the JOB and did it well!
I saw the newer model arrive and WOW! On the ground, one could tell the marked difference in "area of coverage" on target.! Both versions sounded like someone holding down the key on and old electric typewriter times 1000!!
Thanks for a distant memory!

And the main reason I went to the show, the Raptor... I didn't shoot much with the 600mm+1.4 TC this time, the runway is very close to the viewing area.
Darn fine photography here Douglas!
Hats off my brother!

Jim, you are having a lot of fun with that lens! You find ways to make it work magic!
Hi Ray, Haven't had a lot of opportunities, Barksdale, the Game Bird at Ross's ranch and today, but it is dead on and I'm glad that I finally pulled the trigger.
