I've been working on some video clips from my Florida trip and I am blown away by the stabilization in the Canon R5C. The video clips that I captured from the back of a bouncing boat look like I'm sitting in my family room. Prior to buying the R5C Canon told me that I'd like the stabilization much better than the IBIS in the R5, I doubted it, but it's really something.

Time to go mirrorless, Dan. I got to take my hat off for Nikon for making a wonderful camera like the Z8 so relatively "affordable". 47 MP stacked sensor, 20 FPS... Once you try the blackout free EVF of camera with stacked sensor, it's hard to go back.
I know that Douglas! I am going to wait until Canon announces it's new Fall line-up.
I will stay with Canon because of all the lenses I have.
Thanks!

Great video Jim!
You know my problem so I will await your suggestion when Canon announces their new bodies.
Great video!

Woke up this morning around 5 with a million things swirling around in my head. Trying to squeeze a new SR22 into one of the hangars for a friend of a friend. The city has bumped rates for that size aircraft to $1400 a month (in a gang hangar!), which makes the deal I'm giving my tenants the best deal in Texas, for the moment. My plan is to add another hanger to the list in the next 12 months and reserve it for a medium sized corporate jet/turbo prop operator. I get several calls a year from those types of folks and the sky is the limit if you can get them in out of the elements. Currently I just can't accommodate their needs without displacing four smaller piston guys and there is no place for them to go. This is a great problem to have, just takes constant management and a good juggler................ The hangar that I'm planning on adding has a corporate office in it with a kitchen, separate offices and a kitchen so it will be perfect for someone with a G200 Series/King Air 350/Phenom 300 aircraft. My friend that currently owns it is acquiring a new G650 and needs a bigger place, again, a good problem to have. If that all goes as planned I we will own 1/4 of the hangar complex.
Just back from from a interesting air tattoo weather wise, lashing rain and hard winds on the Friday resulting in a interesting crosswind that even grounded the B52.
Saturday was a mix with Rain wind and some sun, again resulting in some cancelations.
Sunday was better with some rain showers and some sunshine.
I gave it some good thought, on how to go on with this kind of photography.
But as it stands now and Reno will go ahead, that will be my last photo trip.
I'm not willing to invest again in new equipment I compared some of the newer R body's and lenses and I must say the weight difference is substantial although maybe the quality will get better lens wise that is like the 100-500 range I think the small lenses are great.
But hey I had some keepers

Spanish Navy Harrier in below minimum weather.
I already had the camera in the bag when he put it down in front of me. I said hotdog ( I said something else not to be repeated here )
And then this happend I think crosswind but it was almost one Harrier less.
Flight power to Idle and back to dispersal, time for some new underwear

This is too close for me "J-A"! The pressure put on the wheel mechanisms had to be bordering on failure!
Very well done also!

Last of the true airplanes, Greek Airforce F4 Phantom probably one of the last times that we saw him.
Saw him take off, and returning within the hour because France denied clearance the same for the al Fursan demo team from the Emirates, It was save to say that the Greek pilots were not amused.
