I would love a putting green. Since all my golf buddies died or stopped playing, I just hit golf balls in my front pasture. My back yard would really be nice with a putting green, the pool and dinning under the pecan tree. All it takes is $$$ which Joe had spent.
Ray are you using "colored" golf balls?
Stay safe!

My Uncle Joe, on my mom's side, flew for the RAF prior to the "colonies" entering the war.
He was then reassigned to the Army Air Corps.

Since I don't "golf" any longer I don't buy golf balls, I just use the ones I find. Sounds strange, right, finding golf balls on a farm? Yesterday when I was mowing, I found two on the right of way just off the farm to market road. Couple of years ago I was showing my brother around the farm in the UTV and found someone had been using my farm as a driving range. Found about 20 golf balls in the field. So far, all have been white.

Great story Ray! My golf days were over many years ago. I played "machine gun golf". Just hit it and hear it richcohet of all the tress.
I know where you can some "combat trip flares real easy". The that will scare the living carp out of those trespassers! But as long as they didn't destroy any property..I would give them a "bye"....for now!

I've got the artificial turf guys that do my pool designer's work coming out to take a look at a couple of areas around my house. Thinking about taking out our pool deck (exposed aggregate) and putting in artificial turf. Most of the pools that I'm shooting now have that and it's a great look, much easier on little (and old) feet.

Any more photos of the Neptune Steve? I love the mix of piston & jet.
We had contact with P2s when I was in the Navy years ago, mostly Japanese but probably Australian, too, when we got into the Indian Ocean. Mid 70s. Here are a couple from fire service. There was a large wildfire pretty near us and got some interesting opportunities. I didn't get any P2 drops. Besides the P2s, there were P3s and a DC10 doing drops. Just watching the air ops was fascinating. I'm not organized enough to find the originals from 2008 but had these P2s (and some others) on Pbase.

Not a plane shot. Had my infrared camera with me today when driving by the U.S. Marine Corp. Memorial (AKA Iwo Jima Memorial), decided to make a quick stop in 40 mph wind!

Jim, our neighbour has modern artificial turf and it looks great. He still gets weeds around the perimeter and occasionally coming through the middle though. And leaves still accumulate and need to be swept. Nevertheless, while I'm mowing and edging my lawn outside he's probably inside drinking beer.

Craig, love the images, especially number two, framed against the moon. The Aussies have a long history of using US maritime patrol aircraft, including the Catalina, Tracker, Neptune, Orion and now the Poseidon.

Douglas - that is a very powerful and emotive shot. IR is perfect for it. Haven't seen the movie, or been there, but I have visited Saipan, 720 miles to the SSE and I got a history lesson about that part of the world 80 odd years ago that was eye opening and sobering.
