Only 20 here this morning boys, a little warmer down south I see.
Not much! DFW is "Feels Like" 15 right now. I'm headed out to finish a shoot that wasn't ready last week. Hope to get it wrapped up before the ice rolls in.
Have fun Jim.
Been wanting to drive up on the mountain at night time and get the telescope out to see that comet but too late and to cold up there for that...Guess I'll do it next time it's around in 50,000 years or so-

I got Hale-Bopp when it was around! Didn't need my 10" SCT.Need to post some pics. I was in the sky for about a month or longer.

I remember that one, didn't have a telescope back then, just binocs and eyes.
Weird, it was in the sky every night for a long time.
Got a pretty nice 8" now.

While my telescopes really showed the comet Bill, most of my photos were straight from my AE-1-135mm. It went from East(night) to West(evening) for what seemed a month or more. Late afternoon was a magical time to view it!

Nice shots Dan-
BY these old 35mm standards..not so great Bill! But it was a phenomina I had to catch. I was shooting from my rear deck and my wife was walking around hence some motion.
I also had the priviledge of knowing an astro photographer, Patrick Dixon, who was on leave from the UK at the Hubble Space Science Lab in Balto and the images from the Hubble were astounding!

Just got a text from my nephew, he and his crew are bringing 8 new Blackhawks to Fort Hood early next month. We've coordinated an overnight at AFW so we can shoot them as they arrive and depart the next day.

Wonder if they will refuel at KTPL...I don't think the Army can navigate to Ft. Hood without a stop at KTPL. They always fly over the farm. Tell them to fly higher than the 150' antennas near Bruceville-Eddy...they lost a couple when I first moved up here. (Foggy conditions)

That's it Jim...I'm going to work for the airport so I can shoot planes and choppers all day
Hint: Be the guy who cuts the airfield grass. No obstructions. Best job on the field. You can see when your boss is coming to chew you out and you can reverse your route to get away from him since he can't leave the pavement.
, good idea, aside from robbing bank. My boss a long time ago chewed me out pretty good for not plowing straight enough and and my dead furrows were messed up or something, geez, chewed me out in front of his company too, I still remember that and it was over 30 years ago. Maybe I'll just be a plane re-fueler that way I'm closer to the action and all.

umm...fuel guys are busy, and camera/electronics around fueling are a no-no...cut the grass!😂
