The biplane was a six year/6,000 hour project and a dream come true. This was back in the day when there weren't "kits", you looked at the plans and ordered 4130 steel tubing and the wood for the wings...Sitka Spruce from up your way........and you started cutting and welding. Quite an experience, not to mention lining up on the centerline and pouring the coal to it the first time!
Sadly I have no recent air plane pictures to show, as it seems that no one else does on this forum.
Here are few from a Air Display from a show over Swansea Wales UK in 2019

That first shot is something else, Mike. I photographed night shows only twice, in darker sky than yours, it was hard for me. The Vulcan shots are priceless. I watched the documentary of how the Vulcan flew to bomb the runway on Falkland, it's amazing how they worked out the refueling plan.

Mike if you look further back in the Forum, I posted a Vulcan form Vietnam. I only saw 1 in 2 my years there. But that 1 was enough to give my team enough time to not be overrun.
Some of the BEST aircraft images are right here! No need to by any "aviation" mag.
Stay safe mate!

Beautiful story Jim, so glad you got your mom up, funny story as well. I'm sure she was proud of you.
I think everyone should build a plane or something half that just to get a grip on dedication, ability, quality, know how, pride and knowing what you can accomplish.
And a leading line to show it Bill!
Love snow capped mountains and deep blue skies Bill.
That is why I enjoyed my year at Crater Lake NP. My last real visit with my father was there in the 1980's. You have to enjoy all the seasons there. One compliments the other for many different reasons.

Out to sea, gotta get some dinner-!!!
I really enjoy this also Bill! I was sort of thinking Maine when I first opened your image because of my brother's home on the island of Vinalhaven. A lobster village only accessable by ferry! One of the rarest of lighthouses there also. It is a great day trip if not staying for at least 2 weeks. Then it might get olde if you don't like isolation and one doesn't enjoy the " DownEastener's" vactioners. For a photographer..and I should have done this by 75yrs olde...visits, weeklys over the years..yes! The olde ferry system was a real problem. Up at 4am to put your car in line for the 1st ferry out the next day and sleep a few hours before ticketing.Mike, my brother, sez it has gotten a bit better of late. But for me, Nov-April would suit me fine. Suzanne no!
Well done and thanks for the memories!

My olde scanners wont work with converting slides or negatives to a digital file for very un-frequent printing...... is too time wasting!
I have done EVERYTHING to upgrade those models to Win10..Everyone said they would..... THEY DONT!.
