As I was driving to my assignment this morning my body was telling me that I could shoot it with my eyes shut and they would be perfectly happy but the more I thought about it, the more I felt like I wanted to do just the opposite. My last shot was of the Biker Group who directed today's activities, their cause/mission is child abuse, I sat in the middle of the street and captured them as they departed.
Friday night the news guys sent me an email asking me if I could cover the Temple Fire Department open house. Since I was a volunteer fireman, captain and fire chief back in the 1970's, I couldn't resist, even though the schedule put it up against my 1pm football game at UMHB. I am a sucker for old firetrucks. When they started the fire department I was a member of they found a 1952 American LaFrance firetruck to begin service with. It was an old open cab, forward of the engine with the tailgate for firemen to stand on as they drove to the fire scene. Therefore, I am a sucker for old trucks.
This is a 1939 Diamond T. The Chicago company built the truck and was well known for their durable WWII heavy duty trucks. In fact, the UK was one of their biggest customers. They provided many trucks for their North Africa campaign. Temple Fire Department kept this truck in service from 1939 until the 1970's. I think that speaks well for the Diamond T reliability. I was fortunate to get the Chief, his wife and mascot Smokey...
I'm making a third copy of AFW 2022, it's usually a large file but this year they wanted me to primarily shoot video which brought the size to just over 3TB, and that's just Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I feel yet another 8 bay RAID coming on...............
There were a bunch of really beautiful Harleys there this morning. bought my '92 Springer Softball for $12K, now the average price is well into the low 30's.

Mexicans in Texas are smarter than people think! (Referring to that last shot; notice he has a Bucee's cup.). I went to school with many.
I hired several Mexican contractors when I was building my home. They were the best people to deal with. Well, maybe because I grew up and worked with so many. They were the best contractors to work with. Their employees wanted to satisfy my wife and I. They are great people.
