You are so kind, Leo! I drool every time when I see videos of the Blue Angels flying over the beach and that fishing pier in Pensacola at sunset!

This gentleman does some excellent work from that location...
Bill, these are some very interesting shots, are they infrared pictures?
OK, this is my last installment of the Oceana show. These pair are the navy's F-35C demo team, I had never heard of this team until May this year. At the Jones Beach show they did an opposing pass, a first time for me to see stealth fighters do so. But at Oceana they didn't do it.
I probably won't have more new pictures of planes to post until May next year when the airshow season returns in our region. Now the hummingbirds are gone, the airshows are gone...Show more →
There are some vague rumblings firing up about the Canon R1 flagship. Canon has been very quiet for the last six months after promising it in late 2022. This latest hint says first half of '23 saying it will be the "megapixel leader" with sophisticated 8K video features.
I'm excited about the possibilities, but I'm so happy with the R5/R5C bodies that I'm not chomping at the bit for the release, whenever it's ready will be fine.
Thank you very much!

Would be interesting to see, Jim! In the Sony land, they may release the A7RV next month, supposedly it will have a higher resolution sensor than the current 61MP in the A7RIV. I don't think I will be interested such a body. My current A1's AF, FPS are among the best of the best, it will be hard for me to trade these features for the higher resolution body with slower AF and FPS. The higher resolution Sony body will not (most likely) have a stacked sensor which allows fast scanning to eliminate the distortion of moving subjects when the electronic shutter is used. It's probably a landscape/studio oriented camera that can shoot some fast actions when needed. I wonder how Canon wants to position the R-1? In the Nikon land, they will have the high resolution Z-8. Their new Z-9 is their answer to the Sony A1, and the Canon R-5.
Tough time for camera manufacturers with the phones getting better and better and satisfying the need of 99% of the population. I just sold the Sony A7C that I bought for my daughter, she hardly used it. She has the new iPhone 14 Pro which take more than good enough pictures for her.
He has some amazing work, very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.

That's some vapes, Dan! I hope it wasn't from Saturday, I would hate myself if I missed it.
840mm+heavy cropping for sh*ts and giggles. The final JPEG files are just a little over 4 MP, from a 50 MP sensor.
You all have a great weekend!
Just "rippers" fer sur Douglas!!!
I can't imagine where you were standing to get so up close and personal with these images!!
Just super photography!!!

Thank you Dan! At the show in Oceana, I had a front row reserved seat but I didn't use it because we weren't allowed to stand, and I didn't want to wing around the big lenses with people seating 5" next to me. I ended up on the last row of the bleaches where I could stand without blocking anyone. It's further from the flight line. Occasionally the jets came pretty close, sometimes too close for 840mm, I clipped parts of the jets many times. 50 MP for cropping doesn't hurt either.

Great reasoning Douglas!
It looks like you are right next to the cockpit!
Wonderful compositions!

A few props. from the shows. Shooting props. remains a big challenge for me at slow shutter speed. I probably got 1 sharp one out of 100, glad I am not shooting film!

My newest client wants me to hang up the spurs and shoot exclusively for them.interesting to think about , but I don’t believe that I would ever do it, especially not at this stage of my life. They have an unending stream of video and still work scheduled for me and I’m looking forward to diving in and building our relationship starting in a month or so.

Thanks Jim.

And chop, chop for you, no rest for the wicked...
Probably not a good idea with all your eggs in one basket like some of us that work for just one person...
Hope you're feeling better now a days.
