There is still another week before the Atlantic City show... Out of boredom I am posting some shots taken at the Air Force Museum in Dayton from July. The collection is just unbelievable.
Just fantastic images Douglas!
I was told that JB Andrews will be returning their airshow next year. Not 100% confirmed but from a reliable source.
Again great shots!

I have been traveling around Central Texas taking preseason football practice photos along with feature shots of some players. While I enjoy it, traveling around from 7am until 6pm can be tiring..a weaker man might say!!
I guess these guys are getting to know me. Temple football had their photo day today so the editor sent me over to get some feature shots of offensive and defensive players. While I was waiting on the rest of the crew, these guys were yuking it up taking selfies, etc. I asked if they wanted me to take some shots of them and they jumped. The guy on the left, Natean Mitchell has been recruited by 5 or 7 Division I colleges, I will be interested to see where he goes. The guy in the middle is a very articulate young man who will talk your ear off, but still fun to listen to. This large school has a family culture. The band warmed up on the track, then took the field to practice. Taurean York, the middle guy, saw them walking onto the field then went over to them to tell them the football team loves the band.

I am stoked that college football will begin soon Ray! High school's also!!!
Great captures!!!!!
Hold on to these when these athletes are high draft choices for the pro's. They will get a "charge" out of seeing them in their "youth"!

Yesterday reminded me of business "pre-lockdown". The assignment that I bought the XF605 for started early in the morning and lasted all day, on my way to that assignment a good client called me to ask if there was any way I could get a set of aerials of an industrial property for them............the CEO needed them by the end of the day. The video shoot wrapped around 5 so I packed up and scrambled to get into the air, fortunately the low clouds and thunderstorms were breaking up and we were able to get the appropriate permissions, circle and shoot the site. I rushed home, processed the images and had them to the client in time for an apparently very critical meeting. Challenging as they are, I love days like that, they make you feel alive and it's been several years since I had one.

Well, in your industry, you are the "Go To Guy"...and that's a good thing.
Funny, people often ask "how big a sensor do you need?" Well yesterday provided a good answer. When all was said and done my client decided that they would have liked tight in compositions on one of the buildings in the complex, something he didn't think of until he saw the overall aerials that he requested. When one is shooting the R5, a few clicks of the mouse can provide a very high resolution solution to a situation like that........
And just like that....the CDC decides that they got it all wrong and we could have avoided the carnage that they wrought on the world...............apology not accepted!
The obvious difference between them and us.............they'll still have their jobs.........and probably billions for funding a revamp of the operation.........you just can't make this stuff up.......but they can!
BTW, the 605 performed beautifully yesterday and, after anguishing about acquiring it, turned out to be the perfect tool for the assignment. I had the R5c configured and ready to go just in case, but it was not needed. The XF605 along with an Atomos Ninja V+ fro monitor/Pro Res recorder was the perfect solution. I played that assignment over and over in my mind since the client asked me to do it, thought of every possible glitch (or so I thought), but it was still more challenging than I anticipated.
And we are a week closer. Assignments have changed from preseason practice to preseason scrimmages. Much more fun. This particular team (guys in red jerseys) looks better at the beginning of the year than where they were at midseason last year. Hope they have a fun and successful year. #12 is pulling in an interception behind the receiver.
I would love to team up with you and get some of those dramatic strobe action shots of these youngsters Ray. I just added a third Westcott 400 to the set up.
