Stay kool everyone.
I could "survive" it when I was young. And for 40 years of that life, I had to wear a coat and tie!!! I can't now! Fall to Early Spring(with NO snow for me to shovel)are my seasons. Fall into early Winter can be spectacular here in western Maryland. Envigorating!!!

It does Jan Arie, but it's a digital still camera. We got it for James because it makes me a bit nervous to have him dragging the R5 around the place...................
I hear you Bill, crawling around on the ramp yesterday shooting a client's Beechcraft was taxing to say the least. I scheduled it for a 6:30 start for both temps and the best light. We got it accomplished, the sky was perfection and the client was very pleased. He brought the aircraft to HQ so we had plenty of cold beverages at hand.
Next subject is a G650 and they are bringing that to HQ as well, we're going to shoot that air to air along with the typical ground shots.

Some of you might not have heard, my good friend Tom Poberezny passed away this morning around 2:30. Tom's Dad Paul founded the EAA and Tom took it to it's international status. Tom was world aerobatic champion, led The Red Devil aerobatic team as well as the Christen Eagles. Tom and I spent a lot of hours air to air shooting the teams and he always made sure I had "go anywhere" credentials at Oshkosh. He was a great guy and I'll miss him.
Appropriately, Tom died the morning AirVenture 2022 was due to kick off.
Very sorry to hear that, Jim. Talk about bad timing...

The MidAtlantic is under a huge heat wave also Ray. But there are breaks of afternoon thunderstorms for some areas. That only raises the humidity level.
Here it has been rain scarce. The weather fronts head right for us then as they pass over the mountains they split and head down I270 to N.Va and DC. The eastern half head towards Baltimore.
The weather forecasters here need to turn in their million dollar weather radar and get a wind sock and a pair of binoculars. Their forecast would be way more correct.
Yes my grass is brown also with patches of green where the sun doesn't hit.
Be safe and mindful of the weather and what it can do!

Beautiful shot Jim, have fun.
And I must say as well, sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.
Sucks gettin old too cause a lot more people you know are gone, when we were young didn't happen much but now that we are getting older life is really changing and loosing our loved one's and friends.
Ps...Who knew bout the B-29 on the bottom of Lake Mead
All kinds of stuff poppin up there I see, would love to metal detect that place for a few weeks or more...

The weather forecast folks here suck, Dan. 60% or 70% chance of severe thunderstorms usually means no thunderstorm.
Boy isn't that the truth Douglas!
The local weather map shows reds, yellows right on top of us but outside not a drop of rain!!!!
A windsock and a pair of binocs could do better!

Relativity is a strange thing, when I got out of the Bonanza cabin after twenty minutes, 102 seemed positively delightful.......... I'm used to Gulfstream cabins with the apu going full blast, just a bit spoiled. Good news is, I didn't have to spend hours shooting the interior.

There is plenty of blame to go around. Rauner was a disaster. Yeah Caterpillar is moving its headquarters to Texas all 250 jobs but not the manufacturing. Kellogg just announced it is moving it's headquarters to Chicago. So one in, one out.
The us against them does get old and is destroying our democracy. But many don't care as long as their team wins. Party over country. History shows how well that works. Nazi party in Germany, Fascist parties in Spain and Italy. Communist Party in Russia. Baathist Party in the middle east.
I served all America. Red, White and Blue. Not just red, not just blue. When you are in the $hit you only care that the Marine next to you has your back and you will have his back. Doesn't matter if they are right, left, white, black. We were all Marine green because thats what matters. We we should all be Red, White and Blue American becasue thats what really matters. I hope we all wake up before it's to late. ...Show more →
Wanted to add to that Google just purchased the Thompson center in Chicago. So the city is doing just fine.
I'm editing hundreds of 4K clips for the new displays in the FBO at Alliance and I have discovered something interesting. My cinema equipment advanced exponentially over the last five years, in technology and price, but the clips that I am liking the best were captured with a couple thousand dollar camcorder. The color, focus tracking and sharpness is really quite remarkable. The Sony FS7 was a great cinema camera but shooting with it required a lot of preparation and it was not at all easy to shoot air shows with. Now that I look back on that whole experience I realize that it taught me a great deal about shooting cinema footage, but the lesson ran about $25K. Makes me feel better about my recent acquisition of the Canon XF 605.
Shooting another beautiful pool today. Just flew the Mavic3 Pro, and I’ll do it again at dusk with the fire pits going. Temps are creeping through 100 right now, headed for 102. Got to capture this new project before the landscaping gets toasted. Lots of hurry up and wait with these assignments, now I have four hours to burn.
During this morning’s lull I stopped by the Apple store and played with the studio display, 5K resolution and gorgeous. Like every place else, they have nothing in stock.
