You're a die hard Douglas...Can't wait to see yours, I can only imagine how good they will look. I can't hold a camera still for the life of me anymore...Depressing. That's a lot of driving...Be careful/safe and have fun.

Maybe post yours in a few days so mine don't look too bad...
Just a fantastic series of warplanes Bill!
I worked at Crater Lake NP for a full season many years ago. I loved it!
Hiked the Pacific Crest Trail from N.Cal to Crater Lake also.
I've been shooting non-stop with the R5/R5C for the past week and a half, in a variety of fast moving situations and The "C" and I have become fast friends. The stabilization, Digital IS, not IBIS, is remarkable. I shot from the fantail of a new Malibu wakeboard boat and the footage is steady as a rock. I added a series of PolaPro variable ND filters to my equipment bag for the assignments and they proved to be priceless, well not exactly at $450 each, but you know what I mean. Shot hours of stills and video with the R5C, switching back and forth between the operating systems, all of it in 95-100 degree heat and 90% + humidity, actually some 100%......... Both cameras operated flawlessly and of the 21,000 images and three hours of 4K video, all but a handful are tack sharp.
This was very timely because I've been asked to give a 2 day master class on the east coast including both cameras.
One thing that I realize very often is how glad I am that I came to my senses and didn't buy two R3 bodies. Not that the R3 isn't a wonderful camera, just not for my shooting style. The more I shoot the R5/R5C the more I realize that they are really the perfect camera platform for me at this point, capabilities that we couldn't even imagine just a few short years ago.

.Bet that was fun Dan,
Crater Lake is beautiful as well as the PCT.
Bill I entered the trail just NorthWest of Mt Shasta. It was early June. IT was fine and I expected some colder/snow as I headed towards CLNP. Weather was beautiful! 60lb pack. I hiked alone. I would not do that today(this was 1987).( I was only 40 then).
I ran into a small snow squall just north of Medford, OR and when I reached CLNP it had about 3ft of snow on the ground!
I love it!!!!!
But I did NOT have a camera with me!!!

Ya the good ole days. Love the fields when the snow just melted and the wild flowers are blooming and the fishing is good in some of those lakes as well. If you look at google earth I have several pics, hiking and flying posted. Mainly in Sky lakes, Blue Lakes and Seven Lakes.
