If I use my 70-200 2.8L (with adapter for my old lens) vrs a new RF 70-200 2.8L if I'd notice much of a difference.
I haven't used the RF version, but I doubt you would see much difference. Right now I have no RF lenses, and I don't have any immediate plans to buy any. Spent enough on the R5.
As for the 70-200, the RF version extends and I have no interest in that as long as I am shooting hockey. Last thing I need is for the lens to extend through the hole in the glass into the area of play.
I have an old 70-200 2.8L non-IS, and I shot part of a game with it this past season (mostly to make sure it still worked) using the adapter. Images looked fine to me, but I didn't look deeply for differences either.

Good to know.
Have some items I'm selling as well, gonna shoot for a 300 2.8L or 200 by end of year if I can.

Mark, I am usually not really adverse to extended zoom but you made a very good case for internal zoom, particularly for your usage. The new generation of lenses are getting smaller, much lighter, slightly sharper but they sure cost a bundle.

Which one of you uploaded a pic of a butterfly for a WA picture ?
Had to of been Dan or Douglas I'm guessing. I saw it on the FM front page and looked at it but can't find it now.
It is beautiful.

Any of those?
Butterflies are my most favorite subject to photograph!!!!
We have a local gardens that has a "photographer's only" show. 10 only at a time with 100's of beautiful butterflies!

Set a new record at the pumps a little while ago, $91.91 to fill up the Landcruiser. Someone stuck one of those "I did that!" Biden stickers on the pump. Now I'm headed out to fly the Cub, 100LL is $7.20 a gallon KTKI........sheesh, what I wouldn't give for a mean Tweet......................

If my truck gets very low when I fill it it's an easy $125 Jim...I feel your pain.
Not sure where trumpy and biden were in 2008/2009 but gas went from $2.25 and ended at $4.65 when everything crashed. Now it's over $5.00 right now. Geeeeesh !
Last game of the season and I am done until late July. High School seniors from all over Central Texas played in Fellowship of Christian Athletes Victory Bowl Baseball tonight. Congratulations to them.
The catcher rarely gets due credit. He has a first duty to not let a ball get past him.
Today is the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Midway, hard to believe it happened 80 years ago. I wonder how many of the participants of this battle are still living? I watched the new Midway again last night.
Went to Reading, Pa for a few hours yesterday. They are holding the huge WWII Weekend exhibit for the 32nd year, lots of WWII warbirds, tanks, armored vehicles, machine guns from different countries. The exhibitors also dressed in the WWII uniforms of different countries. Pretty interesting to see.
Here are a few shots. I just bought a Polarpro variable ND filter per Jim's recommendation to enable slower shutter speed for prop. planes without using F22 aperture. It worked well so far. Thank you Jim. Since my panning skill sucks, I had to spray and pray to increase my chance of getting at least a few decently sharp ones.
You are most welcome Douglas, glad it worked out for you. Looks like your panning skills are pretty good, that B24 capture is very cool! Panning is one of those things that you never really have perfected, one day you can be dead on and the next it's tough to sync with anything, practice, practice, practice, and pray and spray.
Somehow I picked up a cough and cold earlier this week, so I've been dialing back a bit and doing drone research and video tutorials. I have a drone shoot of an outdoor mall this evening and I'm stressing over how to accomplish the assignment without flying over people. They are having a concert in a park area and the client wants me to highlight that gathering. My plan is to launch and stay over the buildings that outline the mall, that should keep me within the regs.

Just fantastic photography Douglas! My father was at Midway, Solomon Is, Guadalcanal and most of the S. Pacific AO.
It is called "machine gun photography" Douglas. Just like my long ago golf game.

Around here the cheapest no name station is $6.45 (yesterday, may be higher today) per gallon for regular, most of the stations are $6.80. Don't know what fuel costs at the local airport but I doubt it is as "affordable" as the gas sold for autos..
I remember back during the oil embargo when gas shot up from 29¢ to over $1.00 (1970s). As the price neared $2.00, there was a convenience store with gas pumps that changed from measuring gas by the gallon to liters. Since one liter was much less quantity than one gallon, instead of $2.00 on their sign they could put 50¢. These pumps were very busy until people found out they were spending the same amount of $$ to fill their tank. I think it was Circle K that did this.

While we all need practice, those look great! By the way, the Jeep driver reminds me of the Jeep driver at the end of the movie 'MASH'.
Thanks Ray! The passenger behind the jeep driver looked too well-fed to be a soldier in WWII. .
