Good Morning Dan,

I agree! I compartmentalize, my cheeseburger has always been a cheeseburger…. it’s a bit more challenging when they are looking at you every day. No worries as far as the kid’s animals. They are loved and treated like royalty all they have to do is neigh, moo/bahhhh , snort or cluck .

Just spoke to James, he has a cold, and is pretty miffed that I’m tied up with all this wedding stuff and can’t play. He asked me not to do any of our work until he can be here.

Good looking set of 'wheels' Jan-Arie. How are you feeling these days? Getting any stronger?

Wrapping up the wedding weekend with a brunch this morning and then life returns to "normal". Photographically speaking this weekend was a bit of an eye opener. The R5c is a very capable and complex beast that is going to require a substantial amount of time to get comfortable with. Canon just released a "Canon Master Class" for $189 that contains numerous in depth courses, including a several hour in depth tutorial on the R5c, I signed up yesterday. I guess it's a motivational factor, but I'll never get used to that "all thumbs" syndrome when you bite off a new piece of gear that is this complex, very frustrating, I'm spoiled.

Still struggling a little with the AF modes on both the R5 and the C. Once again it's me and not the equipment, if you have tracking/face tracking/eye tracking selected, you had better be shooting just that or the focus is all over the map. If you need to switch types of subjects rapidly, you need to dive back into the AF menu and reset the parameters. Oh well, "old dog/new tricks"....................

Is not where i want to be unfortunately, the days that i have to work are to long and heavy that's because of not enough people.
To many sick employees and to much work.
My physiotherapy is going alright but I'm so beat up afterwards that I'm out of order for the rest of the day hopefully that gets better soon..

We seem to never heal as fast as we want Jan-Arie! Especially us olde farts...Body just wants to go at its own pace.
At least you are busy albiet overloaded but it keeps your mind off your maladies. That helps healing!

It is not much different, work-wise, here either!
Stay safe...the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter!
I have been a caregiver for the last 7 months and it got old 6 months ago!
Stay well!

Nice looking ride, J-A! After driving BMWs (two 3 series, one 5 and one 7) for almost 20 years, I bought a Mazda 3 hatch AWD a year ago, saved $$$$$$$ and trouble free, unlike those freaking German cars. I already put 28,000 miles on it in 12 months, too many photo trips! Similar to your CX3, it's really a fun little car to drive. I wish the trunk and the gas tank were bigger though.... I have to fill gas twice a week.

My gas tank is just shy of 50 Liters but that gives me about 700KM range for me that is a lot the Suzuki did 500 on a tank with 45 Liters or so.

Yeah I understand you I used to drive Citroen never again what a cr** when i switched to japanese car al my problems were gone

One from the Vault the C model is almost done it did it's job well.

Jan-Arie and Douglas,

Enjoy those Mazda's! I have owned 2 over the years; 1987 Mazda B-2200 pickup for over 6 years and from 2006 till 2019 I drove a Simple Mazda 3S coupe. That went 150,000 or 160,000 miles on the odometer before I was bored with it. I always regretted not getting the hatch version, hope you enjoy that Doug. I found them to always be trouble free and reliable, ya they needed maintenance and some work but never left you walking!

The 3 was replaced by a fun Honda Accord 2.0L Turbo Sport model with 6 spd manual. Very comfortable ride and I still enjoy shifting; Iowa doesn't have the city stop and go making the manual fun to have yet.

A soft benefit of the manual shift is it limits who could borrow it without permission.

Thanks Dan! My first car was a Mazda 626 hatchback, stick shift. It already had 130,000 miles on it when I bought it about a year after I came to the U.S., so this picture was taken in 1991! This was the only stick shift car I owed. When I took my daughter to Iceland in 2017, I rented a stick shift camper van. I hadn't driven a stick shift car for about 24 years, so I was more than rusty with the shifting in the first couple hours. Luckily there was very very little stop and go traffic in first few days of the trip.

Douglas,

1991, oh my that was a long time ago....................... Was studying for a MSME at the University of Wisconsin way back then.

My current ride, Blue!

Been a lot of fun, even got me my first speeding ticket. Just cruising a long not paying attention and zing, out $135! Not like the day I pasted someone on a two lane and stayed on the gas till 125mph or a few other dozen stunts where I was earning the fee

Later,
Dan

Good, really early, morning from Dayton Ohio! Just concluding an assignment that looked like it was going to be a walk in the park but was anything but, beginning with a flight that left 5 hours late and dumped me off in DAY at 2:33am with no car. The assignment was in Springfield, a half an hour away and was scheduled to begin at 6:45 that morning, ugh! While I went through the impossibilities that seemed to be popping up everywhere a young guy with two little boys walked up to me and we started discussing our predicament and the seeming lack of solutions. An actual departure looked less than likely as American had to go get one of the pilots in Houston which was covered with green, yellow and red echoes, soooo....... from 4:30 to midnight we waited and got sporadic, unencouraging updates. Amazingly, at midnight our crew loaded us and flew us to DAY. My new friend, "Jeff" and his boys were travel weary but insisted on driving me to the Marriott in Springfield in the wee hours, instead of going home in Dayton and hitting their pillows, just unimaginably kind. Jeff's gesture made my assignment possible and kept me from sleeping on the baggage carousel at DAY until Enterprise opened at 7 which would have still left me missing my start time in Springfield.

File this all under "The Glamorous Life of a Commercial Shooter". I texted my client, they picked me up at 6:30 and we were on site and scrambling right on time. 14 hours later I was wrapping up dusk perspectives and pretty delirious, but humbled, grateful that Divine Providence had once again made a way when all looked bleak. My client, and their client just kept looking at me all day wondering when they were going to have to pick me up from behind my tripod , but we accomplished all they'd hoped and then some, and that allowed them to turn over the keys to a brand new hospital to it's owners and patients this morning.

A side note, you guys would all like "Jeff", career Air Force, Dad of four, all around great guy who is battling a 10 year old son's serious health issues, stoically, faithfully. He's a woodworker, all around DIY guy. He sent me this link to a competition he is in the final stages of, where people can vote for him. If he wins, there's a substantial cash prize that would go a long way toward helping with his son's medical bills. You can vote for him once very 24 hours I think, the rules are at the link. The heart of MA2A could conceivably put him over the top if we jumped on it. Can I get you all to once again rally behind a worthy cause and see what we can do? H sure deserves a break, and I owe him large.................thanks in advance.

I'm about to pour myself into a seat and head back to The Lone Star, photographs to follow. Y'All have a Blessed day!
