Dislike of Russia and Russians by Ukrainians goes way back. During the Cold War, many Ukrainian-born members of the Soviet establishment were valuable sources of information for US intelligence agencies. Obviously, that was then and this is now, but I doubt Ukrainians have developed a deep love for Russians in the intervening years. That said, assuming long-term guerilla warfare is possible, I doubt that a return to normal life in Ukraine would result. Just one guy's opinion.
Last weekend The airport in Buckeye Arizona han an Air Fair and Copperstate Fly in. Military vechicles and swap meet.
I believe the Yak 110 pretty much stoled the show. Its two Yak 55s mated together and the third engine mounted under the mid wing is a GE jet engine. Its a real screamer that can turn on a dime so to speak.. Owners must have seen an F82 at sometime-there was one at the entrance to Lackland AFB in San antonio.

To end the War we had General Mac headed towards the USS Missouri.
UMHB played LeTourneau last night in the ASC Championship game. The home team won sending them to the NCAA Div. III Tournament.
The two guys in the first photo played close all night. The LeTourneau player (black uniform, #15) was their high scorer and a really good player. These two would fly down the court bringing ball up the court and battling each other. I could see them trash talking each other and chuckling. I was hoping to get both of them airborne, but this was as close as I got because of other players and refs interfering with the composition. Anyway, the team in white won and move on.
Yes, the reports indicate that they destroyed it. Cost to build a new one.......$3B. Putin has gone off the reservation, which is more than a bit scary.

If iam not mistaken, there was a second airframe that nver flew and possibly used for parts. Ray would nkow the Air force t erm for cannibalized
When Jimmy Carter cut the DoD budget during his administration (liberals demanded ending the Vietnam war should create a reduction in the DoD budget), cannibalization became our primary supply system. We had 3 jets on the back row grounded for parts. We would strip parts from the back row jets, then wait for parts to come in from the bone yard to replace the cannibalized part. These are basically reused parts versus new or rebuilt parts. The problem was, a jet could only be grounded for 90 days and then the jet had to be put back together and flown, or a major inspection would be required. This tripled our work load because we were basically putting used parts on the jets, versus rebuilt parts. After putting up with this for a year, I couldn't take it because I was strapping humans into a potential catastrophe, I left to work in a refinery. 2 months later we lost a jet on takeoff due to failed parts in the fuel system. Two good men lost. I returned to military service after Ronald Reagan was elected.
Finally got out to the marsh on Sunday morning and found the pair of bald eagles that have been hanging around town this winter.
This was less than a mile from our house.
500LII+1.4xIII+R5
Stayed perched in this tree for about a half-hour, then flew off upriver. I decided to hike after it through the snow and found the pair sitting on the osprey nest.
The one on the left was in the tree - not banded. The other eagle has a band on each leg.

Spend a couple of days in the UK watching some black aviation and bombers.
Unfortunately didn't see the B52's fly they woke me up as they departed at O dark Thirty, the first one went at 0540 local and they did a mission all along the african coast like Mauritania etc so when they rtb'd it was already dark the weather was pants all rain only the Sunday was nice with sun.
We also spend some time at Mildenhall and Lakenheat, As the tankers and RC135's were going round the clock for surveillance flights along the Ukrainian borders.
80-1080 U2S 9thRW after recovery don't have to many shot 's as it was to heavy and I hurt my back on departure when picking up a bag but it were some good days with lots of banter and laughing so that was good..
Hi Jan-Arie, So nice to see you posting! Great that you managed a trip to the UK and got some buddy time. I’m amazed that you managed to get any pictures at all – very well done! Down here on the south coast (UK) the only light we’ve been getting is bad – or none at all.
