To start, here's an F35 from the 2021 Pacific Air Show. I liked this particular angle with the vapor.

Welcome, John. Nice! Hope you hang around and contribute more images. As you know, we diverged from the strictly aviation theme long ago. I can't remember the last time I posted an aircraft.

One from this morning heard the Cougar flying around he was doing fast rope exercise on the other side of the river so i drove around.
I found out that the 500 with the 5D4 was still a bit heavy for me for now and i have to do some tweaking in the menu with all those case's.
But i still was able to produce one keeper D:

J-A, terrific shot! Your airplane images always seem to have great depth of field!

I love the Amish Country Douglas! Such fine images! You have one helluva and eye to spot this wonderful owl in that huge field!
Did you stop at the "RailCar Hotel"? The downtown market?

A must if you get back that way!!!!
Dan

Thank you Dan! No I won't take credit to spotting that owl. I arrived at the general location around 6:30, saw one car park on the shoulder, I thought maybe the driver saw something, so I slowed down and looked, drove back and forth a few times, still didn't see anything, for the 4th time I drove by, I saw the driver pointing a camera at the field, there was the snowy owl! I could have never spotted it myself. He was so far away from the road and well camouflaged in the snow.

I need to go back to the area to photograph the Amish buggies and farms. They are fascinating people. Will check out the RailCar Hotel next time.

Nice shot, John! Hopefully not many shows get cancelled in 2022. I know a very good show in NJ and the one at Luke AFB in Arizona got cancelled already.

It's "trendy" and great creativity...about 25 cars as rooms.

Yes!! Many...savior of my six on more occasions than I like to remember. The "jocks" who flew to help us were god fearing, devil loathing insane people! Heaven has a special place for them! "BTB"..(back to base or able baker-abort mission) was NOT in their language!!

Same with me Auzzie mates....ruthless behind the stick!!!

You were there the same weekend I was Zane. Sad that Temple refused access to KTPL to the Georgetown crew who put on the old Central Texas Airshow. The city of Temple is taking it over. There is no telling when it will start up again.

Went to see a rocket launch for the first time near Wallops Island, Virginia today. I was the first one to arrive at the most popular spot, in frigid and windy condition. But it turned out not to be the most ideal spot. It's 6 miles from the launch site and couldn't see the launching pad. Should have listened to a friend who told me to go to a lesser known location that is closer and offers an open view to see the launching pad. Oh well, there is always the next time.

This is a Northrop Grumman Antares rocket, carrying 8300 pounds of cargo to supply the International Space Station.

Yesterday was such a gorgeous day weather-wise, here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Also, a good friend of mine who works for Southwest Airlines came in to do some spotting at Dallas Love Field.

For me, it was sensory overload as California One, Freedom One, Lone Star One and the "original" Southwest paint scheme, N711HK came through Love Field.

Here are four of my shots of Freedom One. To me, this has to be one of the BEST paint schemes I've ever seen.

I'll post some later, of California One, Lone Star One and N711HK.

That last one is nice and sharp Douglas, pretty impressive given all the atmosphere you were shooting through. I watched the launch online.

I used to go to Florida for work, and I was lucky to see three shuttle launches from a few miles away in Titusville, including a couple at night. There is no way to describe the sound and the vibration that you feel throughout your entire body when something that big lifts off.

I'll also never forget standing outside on a beautiful winter day in Orlando in 2003 watching Columbia leave on what turned out to be her last mission.
