Glad to see someone is pushing back against China. I photographed four big manufacturing facilities and two corporate offices that were moving back from China last year. That will most likely change now ..................
I had a little time late this afternoon to finish up the pool PVC repair, we'll see how that all went in the morning. I was putting tools back in the garage and this was the first time I really took a look at our landscape...................pretty bleak. My Live Oaks are dropping leaves like rain, there won't be a leaf left on them in the next 24 hours. I suspect that they will come back to some degree in the next few months, doubt that it killed them. The rest of the landscape I'm not so optimistic about. 20 year old banks of Pittosporum are toast I'm afraid, and the 10' tall Pyracantha by the pool look like their name, "Firethorn", maybe they'll come back. I would guess, if I luck out, I've lost $20K in landscape, if the Pyra and the Live Oaks don't bounce back it'll be more like $75K. Best case scenario JIII and I won't lack for yard work the rest of this wonderful 2020 part B.
That Mini Cow is named "Fancy", she hails from Southern Illinois , arrived at the end of the storm, and is still being bottle fed. She's got a sweet disposition and is great company for Beckley, the first mini.

Hi Jim,
Glad to hear from you. Good news about the various assignments – you and many others have a resilience that amazes me. Very sad about the devastation in your yard. Plants are wonderful at bouncing back – but look less than their best whilst doing so. JIII is so loaded up now. He must have a “To Do List” longer than he is tall!

I’m going to hold off showing Thea the picture of young “Fancy” and Beckley. Saving it for when she needs a booster!
I meant to get a shot of Faith pushing the dog stroller around the other day, with the six puppies in it. I'll get that next time I'm out. It's a three ring circus for sure

Great intimate image Jim!
I would love animals to replace some of the "residents" here in "The Swamp"! Animals have so much more pleasure to offer!
6 puppies? Homes yet?
Tell JWIII his "Uncle Dan" sez "Heh"!!

Homes? That’s an interesting topic. The party line was that they would all be given to deserving homes, the reality is, in my opinion, those six little pups will grow up right where they are. The chances of Faith and Halle giving them up get slimmer every day. Those pups are like their children and their lives revolve around the pups, the cows and the ducks. The two girls are responsible for all aspects of pet care so I don’t think their Mom has a leg to stand on as far as the disbursement plan goes.
JIII says hi back. We fixed a flat on the tractor this morning, worked on the pool equipment and he actually found two cracked valves that I had not seen yet. We then did a little landscape remediation, went to McDonald’s and we chased ducks around the pond for a bit.
Part Two:
I ran a couple of errands late this afternoon and got home to find James waiting for me and anxious to continue on down our list of chores. We blew the drifts of Live Oak leaves that have fallen, trimmed back freeze burned foliage, scratched our chins over what inevitably needs to be done re: the pool plumbing, then wrapped it up with a little chain sawing out in the forest. Whatever tool I pull out, JIII goes right to his corner of the garage and pulls an identical toy version from his shelf. No, a hedge trimmer will not suffice if I have a Stihl chain saw in my hands, this little guy is a stickler for detail. He hates the thought of leaving but when it's obvious that nothing is going to save him, he resigns himself to the inevitable and says "Good Bye Papa" in a tone that rips the heart right out of me.
Darn Jim..sounds like my yesterday..trimming limbs, raking last years debris...killing myself physically....
With all the family "additions" Jim, that piece of land you posted for a landing strip might become be well suited for the pups and other fine creatures!! Lots of room to play!
Well the pool equipment appears to be toast. I have exceeded my knowledge bank and called in the pro team. Best for me to step back at this point because I am so very tempted to take my sawzall and level it!

My godfather did the same thing Jim!!! Back in dem daze, there was not pvc piping so he just filled it in.
Yeah yesterday's yard work had me call in a "pro" for help to finish.
As a song lyric once sang.." My mind made promises that my body can't keep!!!"

I flew down to Houston recently to photograph this Hawker 850 jet, and for once, I can say I didn't sweat in Houston. It was actually a very nice day on the ramp, not like it normally is, which I refer to "Congo Hot".
Looking forward to the warmer temperatures as spring is approaching, but I can do without 100 degree days.

My client that builds the high end pools gave me a list of specialists when he renovated our pool a couple of years ago. I called the mechanical guy right after my rant yesterday. There is water running out of the bottom of the heater, add that to all the cracked valves, I'm better off going to work and paying a pro. I told Sheila last night that my idea about buying aa top of the line RV and selling everything is looking better every day. My pool guy will be out on Friday and I can only imagine what that tab will be.
