Is it any wonder we've lost a lot of regular posters here? It's the double standard that keeps showing up. Anything jabbing at the "left" is OK, but not the opposite. Just because we don't agree with the far right doesn't mean we don't want a strong America while still looking out for our fellow citizens. Sitting down with a beer face to face to debate this stuff would be great, but in places like this online it just doesn't work. That's been proven time and again. Either we cut out all politics here or allow it all. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Edit for TOPP: Not my photo, but excitement is building as SpaceX progresses in their flight test program of the Starship fleet of winged spacecraft. See https://forum.nasaspaceflight.com for phenomenal coverage of the program.

Edit 2: darn, looks like my posting images has expired, I'll have to go renew it.

Just a darn minute Erich! There is no double standard here, only rebuttal. You must be use to FaceBook and Twitter where they "censor" any conservative thoughts. We let all sides have their say. Each individual can hide someone who they don't agree with, that is not a double standard, because the individual's post is still there for others to see. On FB and Twitter, they shut down the post. Here, on this site, you can have your freedom to say what you want, others have the freedom to hide what you say or reply to it. That is not a double standard. Your post describes how FB/Twitter treats conservatives. So it does work here, some will simply provide a rebuttal. If you disagree with he rebuttal, suck it up and stay quiet, or reply with facts. Political correctness and fake news are for FB/Twitter.

I'm not "far right" Erich, just common sense right, a society shouldn't murder it's unborn, now delivered is ok too, in fact light up city skylines to exhibit how proud we are of our debased behavior. I don't believe in burning things down because I don't agree with you or anyone else. I don't believe in politicizing climate change, the 2nd amendment, penalizing success, judging people by their skin color, faith, or economic condition. I dare say that I've fed and cared for more homeless, done more to extend a helping hand to the less fortunate, funded more charitable ventures, than most. Equality and inclusiveness doesn't mean that you penalize and demonize dragging everyone down to make things equal, it mens you recognize the innate greatness in the least of us and do what you can to help bring them up. As Ray said, we are rapidly shifting to a society where fear is prevalent, fear of expressing one's faith, one's ethics, one's core beliefs, fear of censorship, fear of being marginalized, fear of being unincluded at the table of "inclusiveness", fear of being canceled by the "tolerant".

Who was the administration and the party they belonged to who weaponized the Justice Department and the IRS? What group destroys lives, business and property in "peaceful protests" because they aren't getting their way? Who exhibits intolerance and exclusivity at every turbot any and all who put forth a difference of opinion? Conservatives haven't been shutting the country down for a year, burning, stealing and murdering because they are discontented. No one discusses "Progressive Privilege", wonder what would happen if I got a couple of thousand conservatives together and we began torching progressive symbols and business, would law enforcement be instructed to stand down and let us express our discontent? Would our actions, as the fires blaze and the bodies stack up relabeled "mostly peaceful' activities. I think that you know the answer to that. The left knows and is thanking it's lucky stars that conservatives just shrug their shoulders and go back to work because this country would look like Beirut during the siege if we reacted the way democrats and the groups they support do.

Folks will come and go from this thread for whatever reason and so it goes. Where I stand politically, religiously, has never been a secret, where others stand shouldn't be either. I'm not a fan of people dropping in with a Molotov Cocktail so I'll call that what it is whenever it happens, like it or lump it. Your side "won" last month, the world is holding their collective breath waiting to see what you do with that, my guess is that it won't be pretty, equal, fair or inclusive judging from recent history, but the ball is in your court, I hope I'm wrong.

Back to "F/8 and be there"....................

I actually agree with a lot more of what you said than you'd think. But you both miss the point I was trying to make. This is not the place to air these matters, no matter what side of the fence you're on. We're here because the one thing that unites us is the love of all thing that fly and the beautiful imagery that captures that love.

How about this, because there are a whole lot of people who come here for a respite, not a street fight. Let's not post anything, however subtle about anything political. I know it's difficult because so much is politicized, and I realize that I am one of the worst offenders. There is truth in your statement Erich, you can' have it both ways. After all, this is, ostensibly, a photographic forum. We shouldn't have members who are just coming here to unwind running for cover because of all this BS. We mostly know where we all stand, if someone doesn't like it, see ya bye, no harm no foul do something else with your time. Most of you have my email and or my phone number so reach out if you would like to discuss something that you feel strongly about.

I'm not the end all be all around here so decide what's right for you, hide me from here on out, do whatever you want. We don't have 8 million views because this is an unpleasant place to visit, let's not change that. I don't apologize in the least for my beliefs, but I do apologize for anything I have said that makes MA2A less enjoyable for all who come here.

Guys...

With all do respect, let's stick to photography. I know these days it is extremely difficult not to have anything political (even buying potato gets that these days!).

One thing, thank God that all of you are in the US and/or Europe. If you are in my part of the world, (I will stop writing here otherwise I will end up in a miserable place for the rest of my life)

One time I watched a clip about an Indian guy (a wiseman) saying: while I was in a coffee shop, hearing the person who prepares tea talking and discussing about politics (this prime minister should do this and this MP should do that) while the tea he prepares is so miserable and undrinkable, I know that the situation is very bad!

Sometimes ignorance is a virtue (I know that it is extremely hard). There is an Arabic saying which translates to "Do not argue with an idiot, people will have hard time differentiating between you!"

Last thing: I am talking in general terms, I AM NOT POINTING to anyone/anything/anyplace/any party/any whatever!!

First, there was a comment that we've "lost" a lot of regular posters here. I believe "lost" is probably the wrong word. I have posted very little this year because there were essentially zero aviation photo opportunities this year. The few images I've posted have been revisits of old shots with new post-processing techniques applied.
As for the "politics," I'm an old guy who was taught that one person's right to swing their fist stops where the other person's nose starts. We've been through all this before. Between the civil rights & anti-Vietnam "protests" of the '60s, the rioting, arson, looting and killings we've been through this year are child's play.
There are so many examples of criminal behavior that clearly have nothing to do with any of the claimed goals of these anti-society groups and are simply criminals enjoying and profiting from crimes. My personal favorite example is the vandalizing and looting of the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta during "protests of police treatment of blacks."
In what way has all the looting. burning, killing, & destruction benefited the people in whose name it was done?

Exactly! A crime is a crime, George Floyd's case will not benefit from stealing 2 BMW 740iL from a car dealer!
Good and ethical goal using dirty and corrupt methods ruins it all, period!

Thanks for the reality check. It's too easy to forget we have international members here who may live under vastly different circumstances that we don't really fathom.

We can all agree that too many people can't figure out that two wrongs don't make a right.

edit: Darn it, does anyone know how to link to a Twitter image? I can't ge it to work.

Here's one of the images I was trying to at the TOPP of this thread page:

Thank you Anwar! I don't get much chance to use what I learned in my job since I retired. My dental hygienist is from Iran and she is the only one I can converse with and that is not much.
I understand what is being said better than speaking it!

I went over to Charlotte, NC this week to photograph this Challenger 601 series jet, as the owner now has a new Challenger 604. I need to ride on one of these jets one of these days, they are on the bucket list.

My ultimate goal will be a Lear Jet. I've gotten to fly on some nice planes during my career, but I HAVE to fly in a Lear Jet one of these days.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I tend to parse all Arabic dialects in the term "Arabic"..Farsi, Persian....when each is unique to its people. I tend to forget that fact when speaking to a person. And I should know better! Thanks again baraadaram!
