I got a kick out of the Rome, GA's airshow announcer when describing the Warthog: "... the A-10 is loved by airmen for its amazing firepower and stunning good looks".
Jim, this is for you and your nephew!
Sorry these are not good shots...I hear them coming and have to run inside for a Sony point and shoot or they are gone.

Interesting, I've never seen an A-10 painted up with that scheme.

Neat designs, fuselage wise it seems like you ended up with something not too different from the Firebee target drones. Aside from all of the extra sensors and other payload of course.
My inspiration was from this image I found on google. Two heavily modified BQM-34 Firebee drones. You can see the farthest one has a targeting pod grafted into the nose and the one closest doesn’t but is displaying weapons. And after some research, I discovered in the mid 70’s the USAF came up with different mission types and airframe alterations. From tactical strike, defense suppression to carrying precision weapons. My idea is what would they look like today? Modern day Hunter/Killer Firebee type drones. The Hunter will be packed with targeting sensors and the Killer loaded with precision weapons.
A rare treat today, got to spend it with Lt. Col. Jeremy Boyd and we had lots of fun shooting a top secret (until now) project. Boydo created the scheme for this one of a kind F16 and I had the honor of capturing it's arrival at JRB Fort Worth for him.............

I am just green with envy Jim! The good kind of envy! Just a beautiful image and paint scheme!!!

Thanks Guys! Fun day and a privilege to be asked to capture this aircraft. Boydo, Chandler and I will be back at it early Saturday morning and throughout the day as the Squadron does numerous sorties. The weather is supposed to be perfect so it should be a fun day with our hometown Heroes.

Great captures Jim and Chandler! I love that paint scheme!
Thanks Joe, Chandler's weapon of choice is the 1DX III/100-400 and he's spot on with it. His hand/eye coordination is pretty amazing. I'm going to have to start leaving him at home if he continues to outshoot me..............
I shot the R5 mostly and then a little with the 5DSR. I'm loving the R5, but that EVF drives me crazy when I'm panning, very difficult to keep continuity in the pan when it's flashing at you at 20 fps. Gonna take some technique adjustment, "old dog/new tricks" kind of thing I guess................
We are deep into planning an epic shoot with the new F16. Jeremy, Chandler and I are going to create a light painted image of the aircraft in one of the big hangars at The JRB. I had this idea for "Spirit One" a few years ago but never did it. I'm waking up in the middle of the night now thinking about how to do it, and coming up with new ideas. The Air Force has given us carte blanche and that's dangerous when you team Boydo, me and Chandler up on something like this. I can hardly wait for this all nighter!
