It was foggy and gloomy this morning, I decided to drive to Gettysburg to photograph the battle field in fog but by the time I got there the fog was not that visible in the pictures anymore. I didn't stay for long before I headed to the mountains near Camp David for some leave peeping. Hard to believe this was only my second trip to Gettysburg, even though it's only an hour drive from where I live. I am more into WWII than the Civil War. On a different note, yesterday the CCP celebrated the 70th anniversary of sending their "volunteer army" into Korea to fight the "American aggression". They have never stopped considering the U.S. their enemy ever since they took over mainland China in 1949. Wake up, my fellow Americans!
Douglas, I more than "Like" this post! Your images are typically breathtaking, more importantly your experience, wisdom and the courage to voice it is worthy of honor and respect. You sir, and people like you, are what makes America great! Thanks for being a part of Mustang Air to Air, and a friend.

Interesting experiment Ray! I shoot everything in RAW, used to shoot JPEG+RAW but quit that years ago. Shooting tat test in RAW would give you a more accurate depiction of what the two cameras produce.
After I posted that comment, I realized the 5DS R was in JPEG. UGH! I never shoot JPEG, even sports! I took it down because it wasn't a valid comparison for the reason you cited. I agree with you, but I am still impressed with the ISO.
Also, I have noticed much better dynamic range with the 5DS R than my other Canons. That was a plus the Nikon had over Canon. The newspaper asked me to stay to do the Homecoming Ceremony at tonights game. That is pushing the limit because photos have to be in by 9:45 and they didn't announce the winners until 9:15. (After the second quarter I rushed up to the press box to upload 400 football photos while I returned to the field to shoot Homecoming for the news dept.) After the ceremony, I ran to the press box and got both the sports photos and news photo (Homecoming) in on time. Light intensity falls off toward the sidelines at most high school stadiums and that is where the King and Queen were. The best photo composition was when I put the camera on 5.6 A, 100 Tv, and 400 ISO. It was fairly dark, but I bumped up the exposure a beautiful photo appeared with zero noise. Normally I wouldn't do that on a priority photo shoot, but I didn't want to pass up the opportunity under pressure.

I just saw that Jan Arie has contracted the virus. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I don't have his email so I can't get in touch with him.

Keep us posted please Jim! He is a "brother" here! Maybe some other member here can "reach out" to him.
Prayers are out!!

My favorite place to be Douglas!!!! I was there about a week ago and posted some early morning fog images. The color is still there!! Great images brother!!!
Did you get to the covered bridge on the SW end of the battlefield?
Hi Jim and the rest of the gang.
Despite all counter measures it still was possible to catch the virus.
Possibly got it at work but there is no way to prove that another colleague of mine is also very sick.
At the moment it's doable but as long as I don't have to speak.
Luckily my mom is still free of all symptoms but has to stay in doors for 10 days just to be sure.
For now i have to stay indoors only go for food that I pick up at my mothers house were she puts it at the front door.
The baker butcher etc all deliver at home so that's taken care off.
Only thing i like to say take care keep your distance wear your mask if needed and take care of your personal hygiene.
It's not a fun thing at all

Praise Be JA!!!!!! So glad you are mobile to some extent...not bed ridden I mean. Glad to hear "mom" is ok also. She is in that bubble of "at risk" people. As Suzanne and I are....
Keep us posted..can we do anything for you?

J-A, hang tough....you'll get through this episode; bump in the path of life, Bro. I don't have many special connections up in the great beyond, but, for whatever they're worth, I'm bangin' on the golden door for your full recovering.
I used to think that I'd hold off on getting a vaccine until I saw what it did to the masses, my thinking has changed. I'm so sick of this crap I'd be first in line now. Every once in a while, like hanging out with friends at last week's air show, doing an assignment and not having to wear a mask most of the week, I get a glimpse of "normal", I want that back!

Tony, we only need to know that "One Name Above All Names", all the rest are middle management at best, and I know you well enough to know that you have a direct line

Douglas that set of pictures is stunning to say the least.
Gettysburg is definitely a bucket list item for me.
Thank you, Ttown. I need to go back to Gettysburg some more, no excuse not to since it's only 75 miles away.

Beautiful work!

Thank you, Dan! I didn't even know there is a covered bridge in Gettysburg, next time!
Sorry to here that JA. Too many people are letting their guard down (as well as their masks)
Sadly I have a coworker who won't wear a mask because....
"it will mess up her lipstick"
like in the old days of trying to get people to wear seat belts, it was "it will wrinkle my dress/suit"
the alternative is far worse than the wrinkles or lipstick... :/
hope this is the worst you'll get from it, JA. Keep us up to date!
