Me too Rob, great folks! I met the Austin dealer six or seven years ago when I needed my first Sony cinema camera. Competitive can get some of those cameras but they aren't a dealer for them therefore support is somewhat limited. I've gotten all my cinema gear from Austin and they told me that they had my R5 in hand, just waiting for accessories. Turns out they have zip in hand and they were hoping the timing all worked out. I let three R5's with my name on them go by one because someone needed it worse than I did and two because I had committed to Austin, silly me.
Busy Friday Night Lights here in Central Texas. The smaller size schools have been given the green light to play beginning this week. (Larger schools will not begin games for another month.). Fan attendance is limited to 50% capacity and social distancing is required with household members allowed to sit together. There are many on-field/sideline rules for the players, coaches and trainers. The head ref spent a lot of time before the game talking to the sideline crews to make sure they knew the requirements. Not normal times, but it is a crack in the dam.
The newspaper (Temple Daily Telegram) asked me to provide them with 4 photos from the game (short span of time from start of game to the time the photos must be submitted); they printed 3. Here are the screenshots from the online version...

The business jet photography market is odd. People handling the sale of aircraft well into the millions but much of the imaging is mediocre at best, GoPro's and cell phones are the weapons of choice in a lot of cases and not much thought or creativity seems to be involved. I have tried to shy away from the "aircraft controller" photography market because many of the brokers don't seem to recognize value in well produced imagery. My focus, no pun intended, has been, and will continue to be completions and aircraft owners/marketing entities who invest in quality and recognize the difference.
Oddly, the aircraft market is very active at the moment. Usually when the economy is staggering aviation is the first luxury to hit the skids, but not this time. People want to fly, just not on the airlines, so planes of all scales are hot commodities. One particularly high end marketing group has asked me to put together a template of sorts for their company. They want air to air, 360 virtual tours, dramatic still imagery and cinematography on all of their aircraft from this point on so I'm scrambling to accommodate their needs and desires.I've been researching new techniques and equipment to do this work and do it in a way that will make all my client's competition pale in comparison, it's going to be an evolution but you all know how I'm drawn to a challenge so I'm looking forward to it.
Indeed so, Jim, it, among others, is what I admire and respect your for, Sir. No participation trophies in your household. "Toss me the challenge. I might suck air, but it won't be for wont of effort. And, fail though I might, stand by, 'cause I'll be back for more, and I'll not be found wonting." Excited to see whatever you can share, Jim.

You're very kind Tony, thank you! The initial client who made this request has very deep pockets and enjoys setting the bar when he goes after something, we are very much alike.........................except for the "pockets" thing, but you can't have everything........
I went to an airshow about 70 miles NW of New York City on Sunday, it was a 270-mile drive (one way) with lots of tolls. But I am a diehard airshow fan so it was worth the trouble. This show was one of the very few airshows in the U.S. that didn't get cancelled. I went to another one in Ocean City, Maryland two weeks ago. That's all the airshows I could attend this year, not including the several flyovers. There will be a huge WWII war birds flyover in Washington DC on Sept 25th. It was planned for May 4th on the 75th anniversary of the V-E Day but got postponed due to the virus situation. There will be over 70 WWII war birds of all sort. For me, it will be less about taking pictures of these war birds but more about witnessing the history and appreciating the sacrifices they made.
This last show I went to was organized as a "drive in" event. They pre-marked hundreds or even thousands of parking spots, with enough space separating the vehicles, next to each parking spot is a marked 6'x20' rectangle like a "play pan" for the vehicle occupants. We were not supposed to leave the rectangle next to our vehicle unless we were going to the portable potty at the end of our row. Overall it was a good setup so that they met the government's Covid guidelines and put up the show. The lighting was challenging most of the time with the sun in and out of clouds and the planes were backlit for the most part. Anyway, here are some shots from the show.
Been rather busy lately, and I am so thankful for all of God's blessing with all this business. I had ten jobs for the month of August, had five of them at the very end of the month! Four jets in California this past weekend and then the 10th jet was in Salt Lake City yesterday.
Here is a Falcon 50 that I photographed last week, EARLY, in Pontiac, Michigan.
