Thanks Laura. Me too - we have a well and no generator. Something I've been meaning to address, along with a major electrical upgrade.
We should be OK, we're on high ground and most of the inches of rain look like they will fall in western MA. More worried about wind gusts. I will be taking down the portable screened gazebo that is set up in the yard.

Stay safe Mark, just one more 2020 plague to endure...............would someone please tell Pharaoh to "Let the people go........!"

The new Fat Albert C130J is on it's way back to CONUS it's now in Iceland. And the crew will complete scheduled maintenance at JRB NAS Fort Worth, before returning to Pensacola, Florida!
So i can't find if it will arrive today or tomorrow at Fort Worth so maybe tomorrow...
Just crossed the US border dir Bangor Maine so maybe a couple of stops.
I have six residential pool projects to shoot and every single one of them resides within Love Field Airspace. I went to my FAA drone site and did created a request, lo and behold the FAA granted me a 1 year blanket authorization to fly within Love's airspace, kind of amazing. That's half the battle, then I have to create an unlocking request with DJI, uploading the FAA authorization each time, for each location. DJI then sends me back an unlocking code that I have to upload to the Inspire 2 in order to unlock the geofencing and fly. Had it not been for the kind assistance I've gotten from Mike Brewington, I would have taken a ball bat to all of this long ago...........

Ohhhh, I get it now, the nest on the power pole. I've been told it has been there for years, but I didn't start walking that rail trail until last fall, so I didn't know. Even though it is only a mile away, I hadn't visited in weeks.
Jim, thanks for the kind thoughts. We actually got through the day fine, as the storm stayed pretty far west. I know many areas were not so lucky. Winds peaked here around 10pm at 25 mph gusts (at least in our yard), and we only got about 0.25-inches of rain. Was actually hoping for more, as it has been pretty dry.

The new Fat Albert C130J is on it's way back again airborne from Boston to JRB Fort Worth, yesterday was diversion for tropical weather. she is now flying over West Virginia.
She is almost at the Texas border at Texarkana past Paris Texas
Now at final stretch passing Denton to app JRB
Looks like Bert made a nice flyby.
Saw C-17's flying yesterday, got home to run to a spot to catch landings... this one took off but wasn't doing touch and go's, hung out till blue hour kicked in, and still no runway lights strobing, so figured they were on a longer training mission.
Offered here as an example of the personal discovery of just how the hell hard it is to take crisp shots of "chopters" on the move.
This one is among several that were surveying the damage behind Philly's famed Boathouse Row. The downpours and 24' flood level (stage of which is something like 14') of the Schuylkill River wrought havoc what with dislodging a dredging boat moored behind one of the buildings there, swept it over the damn, itself submerged, sending it downstream and then delivering a resounding blow to one of the major pylons supporting the bridge over Market St. Word on the creek is that it has been recovered, but no word on damage yet. BTW, the coloring in the background is from the rainbow behind it.
Duxford based Sea Fury T20 recently down, post engine failure. Very lucky escape for the crew. Not a “start with the data plate” deal, but much work needed.
Goodness sake, Nick, how did pilot escape serious injury given the invasive destruction of the surrounding bodywork? Any word on what caused this accident to happen?

Watched the Sea Fury video. That motor was sick from the get go.............. You could hear a dead miss at run up and I thought it was also apparent during take off as well. It just didn't sound clean, crisp and firing on all cylinders. And the smoke rolling off the left side of the plane/engine/motor right after take off; I would have thought that had been enough to have that pilot call for an immediate return to base.
I don't know multi cylinder radials all that well but you can bet there isn't a vehicle that leaves my driveway with a dead miss on one or more cylinders unless it's headed to the repair shop.
Shot all day yesterday for my high end pool designer, stills and drone, created this marketing video...........
Pretty dicey flying due to the tight quarters, tall trees, winds and power lines that constantly interfered with image transmission to my iPad. The tips of the props were less than two feet from the Holly trees that lined the back yard, with the winds and the encroaching darkness it was challenging. I was glad to finally get it on the ground.
Has anyone noticed the new iMac announcement? Looks like a real powerhouse, kind of odd though because I would think it would cut into iMac Pro sales to some degree. Both my 2018 MaBook Pro and my 2015 iMac 5K are dragging a little with all the 4K video post processing. They have us all figured out, bigger files need larger storage, faster processors, more RAM, and around and around we go. They recently announced a new 16" MacBook Pro that can be a barn burner if it's loaded up, the magic number for either of them seems to be $6,000 +-.
