Well...................... We had some Air to Air experiences in Iowa over the weekend. No fantastic photo's of high speed jets but kinda fun all the same.
I am enjoying the MKII, awesome tool! The auto focus is amazing and there is just something "different" about the files, some much better than any previous camera. I think a big part of it is in the metering, it just hits the exposure so much better in many lighting situations that the photo's just come out much better. Now this COVID thing is just got us sticking too close to home so the MKII just isn't getting used like it should but it's not collecting dust either.
I have been trying to shoot around town, here is a sample of some atmospherics, da moon, and Blue Bills in a local bird sanctuary.

And we have a new family Member, Adelaide! I seems I am now old enough to be a "Great Uncle". These photos were taken almost a month ago now, she was just 2 wks old and already raising her head. The MKII was soo much fun here, just a joy.
We have a few of those around Dan, our controllers at KTKI will say, "Caution flying lawn chair at your 12 o'clock and two miles......."...............
I keep wanting to go somewhere and shoot something gratifying, what a frustrating year this has been. Too darn hot to go to the desert, even if you could. Thought I might go to south Florida and shoot wildlife but Florida is blowing up worse than Texas. Can't market because no one really is interested in talking to anyone that they don't absolutely have to. So, I guess I'll manicure my hedges, what a strange existence..............................

Jim,
You could take up woodworking! I have a GREAT BIG Adventure planned for Friday, going to drive 35 miles east to a Hardwood Lumber store and get some more wood!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shhhhh!!!!!! Haven't told Clara yet
Just weird when getting out to buy supply's is a big deal. And the funny thing is this place you have to place an order, they pull the wood for you cause they don't want you sharing your bugs with them. Show up wearing a mask, sanitize hands at the door to pay and they will load for you!
The "real" risky adventure is going to Mendards to buy the hinges and hardware........... Or maybe there is an Amazon order in my future, boring it is.
I'm with you Dan. Just finished trimming 120' of hedge to perfection. I could have kept on but we're at a THI of 108 right now so it felt like time to hang it up for the day.
Chili is over in Sulphur Springs getting some dual from his instructor. He just texted me a clip that looks like they are out on the lake in an amphib Legend. I'm going to be over there later this week and couldn't make the trek today, but it looks like he's having a good time.

Today in Bahrain, crazy heat... 114F average, 118F spikes!!!
So the R5, it seems that Canon intentionally left out the cooling fan and/or additional heat sink material to keep the profile small and light. They readily admit that there will be issues if you plan to shoot extended 8K, or even 4K/120 using it as an "A" camera. Looking at the R5 realistically, canon has created a camera that, at a $3800 price point, surpasses most every other camera available today as far as features, and allows the user to duplicate footage that can only be captured on a $60,000 RED body (which has it's own gremlins). This is a case of the consumer (me) getting so spoiled in their expectations that they look past the technological milestones and focus on the weaknesses. Another way to view the R5 would be to see it as a platform that allows incredible 8k full frame capture, 4K/120fps footage, with certain limitations, while also giving the shooter 48MP still resolution at frame rates up to 20fps in complete silence.
I spent several hours analyzing the specs and YouTube reviews yesterday and combined with Canon's detailed explanation of their thought processes re: the R5, I have a different perspective. Whether I'll jump on it as quickly as I had planned, not sure at this point, but I understand it a lot better than I did 24 hours ago. The comment that really put everything in perspective was, "How much 8K will you actually shoot, how long are your average 4K/120fps bursts? The worst case scenario is that you have to dial back to 4K/29.97 where you can shoot all day long in just about any ambient temperature, and shoot 48mp stills........" The camera still works for my Ronin S application and at 48mp may eclipse the quality of my 5DSR bodies for some still work. All food for thought, after all, what else do we have to do with our time these days but think........................?

Are you trying to put @JWilsonphoto@ in a deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep trouble with his Chief of Staff? including court marshal
I rarely watch TV anymore, except some documentaries. 8K or 4K don't mean much to me. TV and sports have become too political and brain washing to bear. I thought only in communist China where I grew they do that kind of stuff.
Anyway, here is a shot of the comet Neowise from last night. I tried to see it Monday morning and evening, no luck, finally got to document it last night. Single exposure, no blending. Everybody and their mother seems to be photographing this comet. I am not into astro photography but I got to take a shot, good or bad.
