So true Zane, the cold hard facts. I know that everyone has deer in the headlights syndrome at the moment, but you are exactly right, the financial carnage from this tragedy is inconceiveable. Guys our age will certainly not see this great country dig out of this one, and quite possibly no one will. Unthinkable to be in the strongest economy in history one day and be stopped dead in your tracks the next, sadly unfair is all that comes to

Today the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds teamed up to fly over several cities on the east coast to show support to the front line medical workers fighting the Wuhan virus (That's how I want to call it, even though I am from China originally, I despise the CCP). These were shot in Philadelphia this afternoon. The sky was very blue but somewhat hazy. Not the sharpest airplane shots I have taken but they have special meaning. It's also very very rare to see the two teams flying together.

Thanks for viewing and you all stay safe.

hahah...call it the Wuhan virus here in Canada and trudeau will accuse you of being a racist and try shutting you down, he is also kissing right up to the CCP and our chief health officer theresa tam (who i am sure is a man as in most videaos of her you can see an adams apple) did just that in january, when canadians wanted flights from china stopped, she outright accused the people of being racist

great pics, i had shivers up and down my spine watching the news flashes of the flyovers, here in canada we get nothing, trudeau too cheap to show appreciation, hell trudeau won't even come out of hiding

anybody seen the new Michael Moore film, i am no fan of his but this film, Planet of the humans, bangs home a point, the whole green movement he showed them to be nothing more than a joke, that there is nothing green about that movement

bascially saying that the planet is too over populated to to sustain it, then a virus like this comes along, everyone just basically ignored it, took WHO forever to even call it a pandemic. in Canada, flights from hot zones kept coming in, had a woman flies in from Iran, was already sick with the virus before she even got on the plane, then sick on the plane, then gets off in Toronto, walks through the airport unchecked, no screening at all and right out the airport on to a GO transit

it is almost like they wanted this virus to spread, to thin out the over population

Even the Chinese in China themselves called it Wuhan Pneumonia initially. I spent the first 26 years of my life there before I came to the U.S. as a student in 1990, almost a year after the Tienanmen Massacre. I just despise the CCP. They control the media so tightly and brain wash people every way they can. Sadly most people there believe their BS, including some of my relatives. Watching/reading their 'news" makes me puke, same way I feel about the "news" from some of the outfits in the U.S. too. I didn't know the North Koreans started the Korean War until I came to the U.S. We were always taught that the Americans invaded Korea first.

Mr. Trudeau is a nice guy, he looked real good in those Indian costumes. Sometimes you may not want to have a nice guy to be the leader though.

Back to air plane stuff, The Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds will be flying over two cities near me this Saturday, Baltimore (the rat hole) and Washington DC (the swamp), I think I am going to DC for it, at least it's safer than Baltimore. I drove through Baltimore a couple months ago when I went to the zoo to try out my new Sony A7RIV+200-600, I was so relieved when I finally got on the highway. It was scary when I stopped at red lights in the inner city. I may be over reacting but I didn't feel good when people at the street corners stared at me. It's a sad state.

i saw a rough schedule of cities yesterday, i was surprised that so far there is nothing planned for Minnesota, not that i could get there anyways with the border closed ...maybe that is a good thing though, as i would have to try and sneak over the border to go see it

While a college student, soldier and a government employee, I experienced the Communist regimes for 46 years. This includes any Socialist countries also. They are not nice people! I will leave it at that! The people of those countries are the ones who are/will suffer forever!
I am grateful and glad to see any immigrants escape and become Americans or Western citizens. The Statue of Liberty is NOT just a monument!!

Thank you Dan! At the risk of getting off the topic too much, I got to know someone on Flickr and exchanged emails with him a dozen times. He is an American who now lives in Australia. He was a pilot in the U.S. military during the Vietnam War. He was fascinated by China and decided to go to China about 15 years ago to fly for Shanghai Airlines. he was one of the early foreign pilots flying for Chinese airlines. His love for China/Chinese cultural was all but gone by the time he was done. He didn't have very good opinion of that place, to put it very politely. It's sad that the past several administrations (both parties) let China rack up hundreds of billions of dollars every year in trade deficit and steal every technology they could. There is a Chinese saying, "nurture a tiger invites calamity“,this is exactly what the West has done! They raised a tiger that will bite them. I guess I can't be called a "racist" for saying that because I am of Chinese origin. "Racist" only apply to the white devils, according to some....

Speaking of color, along with Line, Form, Symmetry, scale and Composition are a few features called The Elements of Art. In my latest post I show how I incorporate a few of my favorite elements into my photography.

Ye olde "Who you know" in action, as far as small business vs large business..

I know five people who are recovering from Covid-19. All were in the hospital. They are still testing positive for it, too, after four weeks. One of them takes care of their 96 year old mother, as well as works two 12 hour shifts at hospice each week. They are all out of work until they test negative for the virus... they filed for unemployment too

So....

you're ok dining in close quarters with strangers?
you're ok sitting in a theater with strangers all around you?

If someone near you in these crowded situations coughs or sneezes, are you still going to be comfortable?

Just remember, like the measles, this virus can still be present for hours after the infected person has left the area. Unlike measles, there is currently no vaccination for Covid-19. There's also doubt currently whether there's any immunity provided by contracting Covid-19.

Think back to the 1940's and 1950's with polio. My dad had it, took him years to recover.

And something from the frontlines:

Tell that to my nephew and his wife. She's medical personal, and he's and electrician, both jobs are gone. They are very close to filing bankruptcy, their daughter is quitting college to help out....if she can get a job.

My wife's best friend is out if work. The small business she worked for is about two weeks from being history, can't seem to get the same loan help that the LA Lakers got.

This is going to have long lasting, severe consequences for years to come...and how is our health

Funning you should be calling yourself, a "racist" because it only applies to the white devils, according to some....

I am white, and years ago, I was working for Eva Airways at the DFW Airport, as a passenger sales manager. I went to lunch with one of my co-workers, and she happened to be from Taiwan......as we were leaving the parking lot, after lunch, a black man pulled in front of us and it was clearly not his turn, in terms of "right of way", and the young lady, honked her horn and yelled, "Ah, stupid "N word" as loud as she could, inside the car. She was furious with him pulling in front of her, almost causing a wreck!

I about lost it, right then and there........I was overwhelmed with laughter, because I thought only "white devils" were racists......I could hardly stop laughing and she asked me what was so funny......I regained my composure enough to tell her that I had just remembered a funny joke and it made me laugh.......thankfully, she believed me. Obviously, I'll never forget that moment for as long as I live......one of those, "You had to be there" moments.
