i have seen some utube vids of vegas and its empty streets, it is eerie, the city that never sleeps is finally catching its second wind, i can just imagine the party there when this mess is over
If you get off of 114 on North Freeport Parkway, take the next left onto W Royal Lane, and then an almost immediate left onto E 14th street. Drive to the end where 14th dead ends into N 28th Avenue. Pull up in front of the barrier at the end of 14th. Plenty of room to park and you're more or less north of the east runways.
That was taken on the D810 with the 200-400 at 400 and the camera in 1.5x crop mode (so effectively 600mm) No additional cropping of the image needed. That's really how close you are to the planes.
Thanks for sharing your secret spot Rob! I've been in and around that area looking for vantage points but I don't think I got to that exact location Great images! Probably not a place where one would get harassed either.
Yeah, I've never been hassled there at all. Very little traffic on those two roads. There's a big parking lot right there but some of the entrances are blocked (one isn't) so I just stay away from it.
So off to see how few planes are flying into DFW...
