Jim,
I have been traveling for work so much in the past few weeks I regret to say that I have not. I am hoping to shoot some of my daughters upcoming tennis matches. I will be sure to share the images but I know the camera will perform. I worry about the man behind it though.
Hi Joe, I think you will find that you and the 1DXII are a great match. Let me know if you have any questions as you start to break it in. Dan emailed me today to access his "lifetime technical support" policy You'll love that camera! I haven't shot anything with the III yet, but I've messed with all the settings and the touch screen features on the back, it's a winner. I balanced it on the Ronin S over the weekend and it feels perfect, heavy, but perfect.

An outhouse?? Not exactly fair, catching someone with their pants down, literally!

First time I saw this airplane at a show, I asked about that "kill" mark. The answer was that all the marks were made up since the airplane, built as B-25J-30-NC SN 44-86777, never saw combat. She was delivered on July 2, 1945, accepted as surplus to military needs and flown to Yuma, Arizona for storage. The airplane did see military service from 1948 to 1957 in various training roles. (https://b-25history.org/aircraft/4486777.htm). Somewhere along the line, someone with a sense of humor or one too many at happy hour, . . . .
I was in Pullman, WA last Friday and Saturday, photographing three Citation X + jets for a client and at the end of the day on Friday, this bird came in.
Don't know what type of charter it was, I'm guessing for a team coming to play Washington State University in some sporting event.
Sorry, not fliers this time. Took a 5 day get away to Northern California for my daughter's 40th. This is a night hand held photo of the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. From Wiki: "The Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina District of San Francisco, California, is a monumental structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in order to exhibit works of art presented there. One of only a few surviving structures from the Exposition, it is still situated on its original site. It was rebuilt in 1965, and renovation of the lagoon, walkways, and a seismic retrofit were completed in early 2009."
Normally, the lighting is very orange. I didn't like that image, so I applied some white balance tweaks and reduced the orange saturation.
My last couple of images show a new (to me) post-processing technique I think produces an image that is extremely close to the colors & detail that I saw with my eye at the time of capture. Here is another.
Today was a good example for my never to be published book "So You Want To Be A Professional Photographer"..... I had every intention of getting our yard squared away for Spring. When I walked outside and realized the day was nothing like they forecast, my plans changed. First on the list was a helicopter shoot of two commercial properties. Looking at the forecast for the next five days I surmised that a very good client's ad deadline for 03/05 would not be met if I didn't regroup and head to far Fort Worth in hopes that the clouds would allow me to get a dramatic daytime, as well as a dusk image of a residential model that I'd shot interiors of a week ago. After yesterday which went from helicopter to drone to helicopter to drone and panic mode post processing right up to the client's deadline, I had every intention of having a laid back Saturday........... how does that go?.........."The best laid plans of mice and men.........."

Ahh, not so fast, young Sir. You see, we are making progress on your soon to be published book (did you see what I did with just one word there?) It now has a working title. Progress indeed!
The wife and I made a quick trip to Georgetown, Tx to visit an old girl friend....
The aircraft formally known as Chuckie, on tour with the Liberty Foundation. I decided to go down to see he on a hunch that it might be a while before they come back this way. That hunch was confirmed, they have two more stops before the airplane returns to Erickson in Oregon for an unknown future. Rumors say Erickson may do some flying on the west coast, or there's talk of her going to the UK this summer...zero confirmation of anything other than the fact that insurance is high and going higher and this tour is done.
Used the ND filters again...makes for some interesting pics.
