Oh no, bummer on the dropped D810. My D3 is in the shop for a once-over, at over 311,000 clicks, it was probably time (no, I didn't put them all on there)

Down in Texas for a few days before heading to an Airshow in Louisiana this weekend. Stopped off at the Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, and then over to the Fort Worth Water Gardens. Dropped my D810 on the pavement, so ended up having to shoot the water gardens with the D500, which wasn't exactly in the plan.

Welcome back to The Lone Star Steven! Sorry to here about the gravitational mishap. Is there anything I can do to help you? Let me know.
It worked out. I took a screwdriver to it and took it back out today, it seems to be working as intended now.
I really appreciate the offer though Jim. Thanks.

Probably a ferry flight and he has a travel pod also...
He was gone for a while (about 2 hours) but he did return.
On another note...in case anyone was curious...the 400mm 2.8 does really well with the 1.4 TC on the D500. Shame about the not so great weather today...the JRB was supposed to provide a British F-35B and a US F-35C but both scrubbed due to weather.

Just a case of all weather fighters, fair weather pilots!
Spent the last several days in Northern Europe. Ireland, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. We were suppose to dock in France but the dockworkers strike kept us out. Oh well. I have been wanting to go to Germany for many years. While I wasn't disappointed, I was surprised how many modern buildings have been built in the city. It was a wonderful trip, but I love visiting Europe. Hope to do more.
Oh, and Jan-Aire, I was able to stay off the red bricks to avoid being a target...
Brandenburg Gate, site of many great speeches...most from the other side.
I guess I was at the other end of the runway from Steven on Tuesday...lol
And yesterday after the rain moved through Arlington I took a walk in the park...and caught these guys flitting through the trees....the Painted Bunting!
Did they ever resolve the problem with it flying with thunderstorms in the area?

"Nearly four years ago, Spec. Hilda Clayton, a combat photographer in the U.S. Army, was documenting a live-fire exercise in Afghanistan when, without warning, a mortar tube accidentally exploded in front of her.
Clayton, 22, was killed in the blast, along with an Afghan military photographer she was training and three Afghan National Army soldiers. Eleven other people were injured.
In the instant before the device detonated, Clayton snapped one last picture. So did her trainee.
On Monday, the Army published the images in its May-June issue of the Military Review, the Army’s professional journal."
