I once saw an adjustable walking stick with a knob head that unscrewed to uncover a screw and plate to mount a camera on it. I'm not sure who manufactured it. I should have bought it for those places where tripods are not allowed.
(I'm liking the bamboo one for ultimate camouflage and you can even get one that also doubles as a flute!)

True. The exercise is good for many reasons. A monopod is my back-up plan.
Fun Weekend at Andrews, but oh my with 4600 photos where do I start Weather was a bit tough, rained out the Thunderbirds Friday and skys were pretty over cast on Saturday but over all a very good time. First air show in 9 years so there was a lot of rust to knock off! Some teasers below.
The drop was cancelled due to rain in the area as well as low visibility. I may head up to Grimes before the plane takes off for Columbus after their 2pm flight. D-Day Doll is scheduled to be in Columbus ~4:00pm.

Nice ones! I was there on Saturday too. Flying Thunderbird #6 is Capt. Michelle Curran, the first female T bird pilot I have seen. She is something else.
I won't bore you folks with the usual T birds or BA shots but I bet you don't see these pictures often. The weather sucked big time.

The weather definitely went south on us. There were no paratroopers nor even a flyover. I did drive up to Grimes though, and got shots of the plane up there. There were a couple of occasions of the sun making a valiant effort to appear, only to get beaten back quickly.
That's F4U-7, N965CV. Only been back in the air for about a year. Thankfully, no serious injuries and the damage doesn't look "career-ending." Saw it May 19th last year and posted this image here.

Yikes, don't know how many hours it flew in that year, but they were expensive. Sorry to see that. Every time I flew the T-6 some iteration of that was lurking in the back of my mind. A kick beyond description to fly a warbird, but if and when it goes south, it's a bad day.
