Nope, sorry I missed that I dropped by around 4:30 and hung out for about 45 minutes waiting for the light to get right for a dusk shot in Trophy Club. That was a departure.
Now on another topic; last week you mentioned that we really liked a lot of "Ice" with our drinks. I would agree, and what with another 4 inches of the stuff & more predicted it's not getting any better. So, even with proper "Gentlemen Pours" we have far too much Ice to go around.
You want to help me get rid of some of this stuff? You stop and pick up a few liters of proper Whiskey and come on by, I'll have all the ice we could ever use
LALALALALALALALALA I don't hear about a D500 nor a 500PF LALALALALALALALALA

After much soul searching and going back and forth a few hundred times, I've decided to part with all my Nikon gear and go strictly Olympus m43 system.
Over the next few weeks I'll be putting up my D500 with grip, newly serviced D5, 70-200 f/2.8, 300FP and very hard to get 500PF lenses, as well as TC-14, TC-17 and TC-20 teleconverters. I'd prefer to give our group first shot at them knowing it'd all be put to good use before listing them on the buy and sell forum. I try to be gentle on my gear, so it's all in excellent condition. PM me if you're interested.
While a lot of the country is a cold snowy mess, we here in Texas have not had much winter to speak of....zero frozen precip in the DFW area at all.
Saturday was one of those harbingers of springtime, the wind blows across west Texas and brings some of the airborne particulate our way....we called them sand storms when I was youth growing up in Lubbock.
It irritates the eyes and leaves a gritty feeling in your mouth....even 300 miles from the source....and creates interesting skies.
I'm going to make a run to the Legend Factory in Sulphur Springs if the ceiling stays high enough. My new prop is in and they have the ADS-B "In" components/GPS are ready for installation. That'll wrap up the Cub update. Chandler is pressing for a smoke system but I'm trying to resist
Actually it would be fun, but I don't know where one would place the smoke oil tank in the limited space available, and I doubt seriously Chandler would have much interest in cleaning the smoke oil residue off my fuselage. Don't think it's going to happen.
Im thinking seriously about having Legend build me a custom Super Legend with a 180HP for a little faster cross country work, that might be a better plane for smoke.
Low ceilings and freezing drizzle have me holding off on my trip to the factory. We're organizing an "AOC" day as soon as the weather breaks.
If I had a Super built I could mount it any number of places that would be inconspicuous. There just isn't a lot of room in the cockpit for even a 3 gallon tank, especially for something that is pretty unnecessary other than the occasional kick of a low pass down the runway with smoke on.

Hi Dan,
Well now, “proper Whiskey” is for those who appreciate it. Over here, Thea enjoys “whisky” - in the past Johnnie Walker, but latterly Ballantine’s. On the other hand, I’m partial to proper pink gin, as mixed per the workflow given to me by Thea’s dad. It was a long and arduous course of instruction, but one gladly undertaken by both pupil and teacher.
After much hand wringing I have decided that it is just not practical to continue to store the amount of images I've been archiving. I decided to methodically go through every client folder and delete all the images that have not been converted to a final file, keeping the RAW file and the Photoshop conversions. That's a huge undertaking but the alternative is dropping yet another 10 grand on RAID arrays. I don't know of a single other photographer that has a system keeping decades of digital files live for their clients. My rationale is, if a RAW file hasn't been Photoshopped in a folder that's a couple of years old, odds are it never will be so toss it. Time consuming as this is going to be, I think it will reduce my storage by at least 20TB x 3 locations, so 60TB of space freed up. I keep trying to come up with a reason that I'm going to regret this strategy........................
One of my bucket list trips is a tour of distilleries of Scotland and Ireland. The only problem is, even if I do it I probably wouldn't remember much of the trip. <hic>
