Tomorrow is the Kelby Worldwide Photowalk, and around here, they were going to have it at a nature area, however they couldn't resolve a conflict, so the Dayton area one is at the AF museum again. Decided I'm going to take part this year.

David, Happy to see you made it. As I recall you shoot Nikon. While you are on Fred Miranda check out the Nikon forum, it is the home of the largest thread on FM, the manual focus Nikon glass thread (don't recall the exact thread name, but look for manual focus glass and a six figure post count).
As for "rules", we quite frequently drift away from the strictly "photography" subject into politics, religion, etc. But most of the time we stay focused on the photography side. The thread has become it's own community within the Fred Miranda universe, and I know I am not the only one here who considers the other members (or at least some of them) as "family".
If someone posts something that you really don't agree with, feel free to respond. Just remember that this is a community, it most certainly isn't LTUP and no one here want it to become that (even though you and I probably are the only ones who know what LTUP is).
My rule for MA2A is, before I respond to a post I ask myself the following "religious" question, "WWJD" except I'm not religious, and to me that means What Would Jim (Wilson) Do?

Hey Ken. Thanks for the invite! Great photos here and some familiar faces. And don’t worry, far from politics or religion here.

Here you will find (other than great photography) humanity, ethics, jokes, craziness (I suppose ), people from far side of the world, gatherings, etc...
The most important thing, we all care for each other, because we are family. Many did not meet physically, never saw each other's eyes, never heard each other's voice, still we are a close family.
I am Anwar, from Bahrain, middle east (14 hours direct flight from DFW), 42 (as of now).
Well David, there you have it in a nutshell You can begin to see why this is such a wonderful place, there pretty much isn't anyone on here who isn't a talent, but much more importantly a wonderful human being and we'd go to the mart for each other, in fact we have. I'm looking forward too having you become a part of the group!
And Ken, hope you are doing well out there in beautiful Half Moon Bay! I'm touched and humbled by your comment, means a great deal. Don't be a stranger!
One of my interests is model aviation. I frequent a site called R/C Groups, that's where I saw some of David's images and invited him to join us.
R/C Groups has an "Off Topic" set of forums, one of which is "Life, the Universe and Politics", usually referred to as "LTUP". Many of the threads in it (especially the political ones) tend to spin out of control, and people sometimes get them selves banned from the site either temporarily, or permanently, depending on how many times the moderators have to warn them about their posts.
There are actually some, that to "win" an argument will go back through a persons post history, and report every prior post (that they can) throughout a persons history to try and get them thrown off the site (sound familiar?).
I'd just prefer that we (MA2A) don't go there. The couple incidents in the MA2A past were bad enough, and hopefully they will never be repeated again.

Personalizing any matter is the first step to get it out of control. Here the idea is, is what you are discussing for the sake of "the greater me" (as we call it in Arabic), or for what exactly? What am I delivering, or trying to, in that?
And, dirty politics, point-of-views turned into wars of all kinds.
Anyway, back to the matter we all like and gather for, aviation photography

All of LTUP isn't like that, it's just some of the threads within LTUP. I suspect that some of the people posting there are actually looking to argue with someone behind the anonymity, and safety of the keyboard.
You will notice that my screenname here (and on R/C Groups) is basically my name, or initials and last name. That, the "WWJD" philosophy, and my issues putting my thoughts in written form have served me well when responding to some posts on the internet. It's much easier to fly off the handle and be obnoxious, when no one knows who (or where) you are.
