Came across this while I was delivering today. Person I was delivering to said they were waiting to see the person who owned the house with this growing in front to get it with the lawn mower but I suspect they are letting nature rule here. Only had the phone as the camera though.
My Buddy Jim Koepnick and I had a long conversation about mirrorless cameras yesterday, specifically Sony products. I've read dozens of reviews, some glowing, some not so much. Certainly no camera system is a perfect tool for every situation, based on my research I'll adapt to the heavier 1DXII body. One thing I noticed from the get go is the need for a wider lens, the 24-70/2.8 is a bit tight because of the 1.3 video crop factor on the XII. Wondering if the 16-35 III will be wide enough or if I need to go with an even wider lens.
What I do know is that I need to decide pretty quickly because I am putting the system to work this week here and in Ohio next week. Wish I had a little more time to figure this all out.
Here is a photograph of the Astra jet that I photographed last week. This morning, it looks like we finally might get some rain and cool things off, in the DFW area.

The 16-35 f/2.8 III has a solid reputation for sure. I would also consider the 16-35 f/4 IS, I own it and like it a lot. Based on my personal experience and the reviews I've read around, unless you really need the extra stop, the f/4 version is at least as good, lighter, cheaper and gives IS.

I have looked at Sony too, but the cost involved in a switch, or trying to use Canon and Sony just won't work for this boxmaker by trade. It looks like Canon and Nikon are working to fully catch up with Sony. I know Nikon has already announced some things.

Entered it into the weekly assignment, too.
Everyone should leave it alone and ponder the motivational significance of the corn seedling that grew that stalk. I only know a few people with that spirit of tenacity..........one being you
I'm hoping they do. Thankfully it's on a dead end, so traffic won't kill it. Might have to get a shirt made with that photo on it, even if it was an iPhone photo Meanwhile, the tenacity has to kick in again. This year has been a disaster so far

Nice one. I'm guessing this was the Saturday night show - I was on my way to the show and ran into friends who invited me to dinner so I watched from the campground.

Jim, if you are ok with Sony’s current lens lineup, I think the Sony A9 can beat the 1dxII for rodeo , 20 FPS, absolutely blackout free, talk about capturing the perfect moments....but of course it’s not as robustly built and it will take some time to get used to ergonomic.
I had a shoot with a beautiful airframe yesterday. I've got another client who just ordered the ER version all tricked out, $74M. Looking forward to shooting it air to air over Monument Valley after it's delivered.
