Sorry it’s been a while since I posted here, not been to many airshows in the last couple of years, family commitments first. I hope you’re all excited about RIAT, lineup looks awesome.
FYI, I shot a couple of after thought quick video clips with the Canon 5DSR when I did the helo shoot last week, definitely not the right tool for the job. I had a Kenyon 6x6 attached and the air wasn't horribly rough, but the 5DSR exhibits intolerable rolling shutter artifacts in this application. Fortunately I just did it as a test, but it failed miserably. Funny, my RYLO 360 camera was shaking all over the place on the suction cup mount, but the footage is velvety smooth, interesting.
The Facebook page gives some background and a link to the petition. I can post the direct link later.
It’s not click bait, Nick wrote his history thesis on WW2 and is absolutely sincere
More Mach Loop today including the first ever F-18 through the loop (and it was Canadian), followed later by the Canadian Demo Jet, and a surprise visit by a Saab Gripen, Canadian C-130, and a Royal Air Force A400M.

Not that impressive. Maynard Hill did it (Newfoundland to Ireland) in 2003 with a model airplane, on a hobbyists budget.
The model took off (and landed) under radio control, but the flight was controlled by an onboard flight control/navigation system that was switched on (and off) by the pilots controlling the take off, and landing.
In 1998 Aerosonde flew the first UAV to cross the Atlantic (Newfoundland to the Outer Hebrides). That was commercial venture (with some government funding), unlike Maynard Hills later flight. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AAI_Aerosonde
I've been on the fence for the past couple of weeks about updating my 15" MacBook Pro, sure glad I didn't pull the trigger, they announced this upgrade today and it's available pretty much right now............... https://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/
My shooting schedule has been so insane that I am double and triple booking assignments and rotating through them as the best light and sky comes about for segments of each of them. Sure involves a lot of running back and forth and duplicate lighting set ups, but it's the only way to get them all done and keep my clients happy. Obviously the scenario doesn't work if the locations aren't reasonably close to each other, and it takes some planning to recall "Whose on first...........?" But I'm getting a lot done!
