Thank you everyone! Sheila and I watched a Netflix production last night called "Kodachrome". The story was about a photographer and patching up a relationship with a grown son from whom he had been estranged a he globe trotted practicing his craft. Hopefully there is no similarity between this guy's personality and mine, if anyone finds any, please accept my sincerest apology........... The language is a bit rough (I didn't know photographers talked like that! , but the story line is interesting and in the end it makes you think about the imagery we devote our lives to capturing and what it will mean to those who mean the most to us after we've "gone west". Anyway, at this youthful stage I don't need to be entertaining thoughts like that......................
Every once in a while I do kind of think about my clients and the fact that they soon will be hiring a 70 year old commercial photographer for their work.............then 75..................then.............? But I refer you back to the last sentence in the paragraph above..........

Important to remind your clients: never trust a commercial photographer under 69 ... 70 ... 71 ... 72 ... 73 ... 74 ... 75 ... 80 ... 85 ... 90 ... 95 ...
Right you are Chuck! Funny, most of my clients have asked what my retirement plans might be, and I've made it abundantly clear that as long as they need me, and the Good Lord blesses me with the ability to do quality work, I'll be there for them. As long as I feel 40, full steam ahead.
I was reading an R/C forum I follow and someone posted that Ron Carlsons TBM crashed Sunday. According to the post he suffered catastrophic engine failure over rugged terrain, and he and his passenger bailed out.
I did a quick websearch, but found no information confirming the post, So I thought I would ask if anyone here had any information.
EDIT: The post doesn't show up because the poster has violated some of the site rules, so his posts require that you click on the "show it to me anyway" link.

Flew up to White Plains, NY this past Saturday to photograph this Pilatus PC-12. This is the 14th one off the line, there are now more than 1700 of them flying! The owner is 70 years old and flies it himself, he even flew it across the Atlantic a few years ago, and spent some time in Europe on business and vacation.
He has spared no expense with the latest avionics and bells and whistles.
69 and still doing what you do, Congrats and Nice...
Nice to see an American hard at work, especially one who isn't high in the clouds or watching Facebook all the time while sucking off the gov waiting for their next paycheck.
Keep up the good work Jim, hope you keep going for many, many more.

One of my very good clients, a director of marketing, just emailed me to say she has accepted a great offer from a firm and she'lll be leaving at the end of the month. I'm happy for her because she's wonderful and deserves all the success her talents can avail, but I really dislike change like this. Relationships are so important to me it just saddens me to turn a page like this. Sometimes, actually often, it's a great thing though because I am able to continue shooting for the existing company, and my client brings me on with the new group, win/win. I shouldn't really be concerned at all actually, because I am well aware of where every assignment I have ever been blessed with comes from, so "Tally Ho!"
Hey, thanks for helping me work through this..................
