We'll miss you Mark, but I understand completely. I'm going but it's not going to be easy, my schedule has exploded and spring green is still a long way off. I'm shooting night and day and juggling a dozen new client requests for meetings to discuss their photographic needs. I know I'm going to remain slammed and Tucson is going to put me further behind. I committed to attend and I need to honor that commitment.
Thanks Jim. It's been a tough choice, but I think I'm going to have too much going on. And although I would love to see folks that I haven't seen since ISAP 2010, and meet others for the first time, the plain fact is that I just don't shoot much aviation. I haven't been to an air show in 3 or 4 years. It's a lot of money to spend listening to what I'm sure will be very interesting presentations (that I probably won't use much), while mostly looking forward to socializing over dinner.
Is there a full schedule of speakers and events out yet? I can't seem to find one.

Congratulations Brian! A couple of things, I'll bet this won't be your one and only trip out, and I'm thinking you will give a lot of thought to your next one. It's all preparation meeting opportunity and you're on your way, good job! Maybe next time you'll have a little help from early morning/early evening light, it all jus practice, building on one experience and being a little more ready for the next, you'll get it!
JW
P.S. Great work on the ski aircraft!
Thank you Jim
"Maybe next time you'll have a little help from early morning/early evening light"....funny that you should mention that, especially tonight, i was doing the night shift at work, sat down for coffee at 6:30 pm and a few mintues later i heard the roar, stepped outside and saw the afterburners lit up heading up into a very nice colorful sunset (i live close to the airport and work is only a few blocks away from where i live even closer to the airport)...would of been some sweet lighting
Hi JW, can you advise the date, time, and airport of this Qantas A380? I presume DFW. A good friend of mine is a Qantas A380 pilot and he would be interested to pass onto the crew who flew this and he needs to hang out here more too.

Spent a couple of hours getting more familiar with my Sony FS7/Odyssey 7Q+ set up. Please pardon the couple of hiccups in my panning technique, winds were G30 and the FS7 with a Canon 200-400 on the front presents a lot surface .
This is dumbed down to H.264 so it's manageable, the original clip is 10TB in 4K RAW.

Thinking about it, but want to see more details (how many B17s constitute a "gathering", etc.). I have two friends also considering attending, but they, too, would like more info before deciding.

I hear you, Mark, and I'm sorry you won't be making it. I don't shoot as much aviation as I used to either, and I usually agonize for weeks on whether to make ISAP or not, for many of the same reasons. This year, the "yea/nay" decision fell in ISAP's favor, and I've always wanted to visit Pima anyway. For future occasions, well see.
Just got shipping confirmation that my tug for the Cub left Chino today, The Cirrus tug will follow in a week. Man I would have loved to have had one of these when I had the T6. Beside being fun, it’s so nice to be able to position the planes so precisely, and not have my hamstrings ache for two days. That little slope for drainage seems a lot steeper when you’re pushing and pulling aircraft filled with fuel and TKS fluid.
Cheers, my contact will pass on your info to the crew. (The captain of that flight has a seniority less than 50 at Qantas) my buddy is around 1600 out of 2400.
Thanks Slug! I'm going to go back and get an even better clip when it's not gusting to 30 There's a good spot on the south end of DFW to shoot , if traffic is in a northerly flow, but DPS chases you off if they see you. My cinema rig is not too subtle so I'd probably get the boot in short order.
Oh, I forgot to give you the location, it was DFW, and I looked at the file and confirmed Thursday January 25th.
Just a quick message from me.
Delivered my mom this morning at 0715 at the Hospital went into surgery at 0800 and was ready for pickup at 1230 all went well and she is resting now on the couch
