I was thinking about doing the demo and maybe laying the tile, but Sheila put her foot down ........so it would be rude to argue with her...........right? 😊
Looks like aviation across the board is going to get the boost it has deserved for a long time. The tax code overhaul has huge benefits to those involved in capital equipment expenditures and GA has responded vigorously and immediately. Based upon what we are seeing just in the first few days after it’s enactment manufacturers, and brokers will have a difficult time keeping up with demand and related industries will be rejuvenated as well. Good for GA, good for business, good for the country.

January looks busy if the weather and completion schedules allow, and for the past several months we've been laying plans for some major updates on the home front, pool and landscape redesign, and the renovation of our master, master bath, living and dining rooms. ..? Sheila has forbidden me to do any of the work and while I was considering it, I really didn't put up much of a fight on that front. ... The back yard is kind of my domain so the gifted gentleman whose pools I've been capturing of late is working on that design and renovation schedule as we speak. Weebeesee! ...Show more →
JW that guys landscape and pool layouts are nothing short of spectacular; really looking forward to seeing how that turns out.
As for Sheila’s injunction vs your DIY instincts,‘‘tis a wise husband indeed who knows when to smile and nod.

Another shot from the lantern festival, along with a very short clip of the huge Chinese Opera Lantern. They could definitely use WD-40 or 3in1 though
Laura These are Gorgeous! You really nailed this series.
You're right Chuck, he's a genius and his dedication to quality construction is remarkable as well. Our space will probably not be quite up to his normal design level, cuz the last job I shot for him had a budget of 200K....................for the landscape!!!! The pool and hardscape had to be at least 300-400 thousand, sooooooo he's going to be constrained a little by our budget. We were bouncing ideas off of each other on Tuesday as he began drafting our design, at one point he looked up at me and grinned........"I gotta warn Ya Jim, be careful with this stuff because once it's on paper and your wife sees it, it get's really tough to put that genie back in the bottle!" I knew what he was saying, but he's never met Sheila, she's pretty down to earth frugal. There's an old saying, 'She wouldn't pay a nickel to see The Lord ride a bicycle....." that's my girl. Much to her chagrin, I joke all the time about her financial sensibility allowing me my extravagances. You can imagine how that goes over
I had my annual most stressful assignment this afternoon........the family portrait. I was in the middle of reorganizing my trailer when my tickler alarm went off to remind me to head to the designated location. I've got stuff spread all over the hangar so I'll have to head back to HQ in the morning to continue......................dang it, don't ya just hate that?
Every few months I have to empty the trailer on the ramp, vacuum it out and put everything back in it's spot. By late tomorrow morning it will be ship shape and ready to tackle 2018.

Well, that's your problem (opportunity!) right there. You need a bigger trailer Oh come on - you know you want to. After all, there is all that "stuff" you'll need to move out of the house into temporary storage at HQ for the duration of the remodel. Then moving it all back again!

Beautiful Nick! I like them both, but the color image is pretty spectacular.
Bigger trailer, hmmmmmmm............. I have been hoping that the current one would suffice for the duration. Just put new wheels and radials on it.
Ah, lost in translation..... When I said bigger trailer I meant bigger additional trailer. After all we don't need you wasting valuable time unloading and reloading the work gear. See, I had you covered all the way ......
Before it screams by and I'm sending belated wishes, from our home to yours, we wish you the peace and blessings this season offers, "Merry Christmas!"
And no, I didn't get everything decked out the way I wanted it, but it's close enough to pass Grandchildren muster, so I'm stopping at this point or I'll be bringing out and putting away in the same 24 hour period.
Contrary to what Apple would like us all to believe, and in keeping with what I tell my Grands......."An iPhone is NOT a camera......even the much lauded iPhone X, cool but NOT a camera! I see it as just another plank in the dumbing down of society, email caused grammar and spelling to get sloppy, texting took it to a new low, the web has opened up a new window where we can be uncivil with one another, semi-anonymously, and the "camera" in your phone has become acceptable quality because it's convenient. I'm not a conspiracy type guy, but some things are just too obvious to ignore...........
Sheesh! One only has to watch five minutes of "The Crown" to see how far language has devolved, it was art then, now it's less than chopped liver in comparison.
