Good Morning, Afternoon and Evening My Friends,
I apologize for my absence, a number of things kind of ganged up on me, some of which you were aware of and some you were not, just needed some time to sort out what could be sorted and adjust appropriately to what was unsortable.
First, Nick, I hope you are feeling better, Anwar, as usual expressed it perfectly. And wait, haven't you been on my case regularly about taking care of myself? Turn about is fair play.
I'm scrambling out the door to catch a helicopter, but before I do, I will pay my dues according to the requirements set forth by our good friend in Bahrain. Great to have you back Anwar....Show more →
Well hello young Sir - very pleased to see you! "Turn about is fair play" ..... OUCH - I think I took a big hit there. .
We have our camera club season under way now. Early competition results where too poor to relate here. However we recently had an open print competition where I got an OK but rather strange result. Images are posted under. They all got 9/10, which is not as good as it may sound since there where plenty of 9.5s and 10s. I just found it strange that three rather different prints should get exactly the same mark. Oh well …..
Keep working at getting those levels in balance. It can be a slow journey so take it easy

Thanks Laura. In retrospect, I think that the main reason why this has taken so long to get a grip of is that all the various conditions have very similar symptoms. Accordingly, you have to fix all of them before you get any real solid improvement.

Pretty impressive setup Jim. Is there a possibilty you are losing some gyro action with the length of the drop arm? During your absense, I figured you were shopping for a bigger drone🤑🤑. Glad you are back.
Thanks! I haven't spooled up the two 8x8's yet, but my guess is, it will behave as if it's bolted to the hangar floor. On the subject of drones, I'm looking into the Inspire 2 with the new 7.5K Zen Muse camera, pretty irresistible.
You are probably right. The two 8x8’s will be a force to be reckoned with. As to the new Inspire 2 with the X7 camera, it looks wicked for video. Remember, it takes money to make money.
Attended a night shoot with Avro Lancaster NX611 'Just Jane' last night. By chance the local air ambulance was conducting a training flight at the airfield and kindly agreed that when they departed they would illuminate the lanc briefly from above with their searchlight.
Fairly happy with how this turned out and makes getting home at 3am worthwhile!
One of the dozen new clients I've been blessed with this year is a high end pool design/build group. These folks do them right! This project had over 200K in the landscape alone, but what an incredible environment they created for this client.

This thread is different than most on FM. It's sort of a social hour for a bunch of folks with common, but widely varied interests. Most of us started here for the aircraft but now it's much more. Many of us have met in person, and we have just as much interest in one another's personal lives now (and probably more) than we do the aircraft.
People come and go, but a lot of us have been here for many years. I think my first post was over 10 years ago. It's not for everyone, but it works for us.

As for Jo, Jim, and Anwar, everyone runs into times in their life when they need to switch gears for a while. Too much other stuff to handle, or subject overload, or what-have-you. I've certainly taken my share of time off, but have always been here in spirit. The important thing is, while there's a "spirit" to uphold, those who are here uphold it; that's what honors the missing most. Hopefully they'll be back after they sort through whatever is going on. We'll keep their place available.
I've got a lot of catching up to do. A close friend had a debilitating stroke six weeks back and it's been nonstop ICUs, hospitals, Nursing Homes and likely Hospice tomorrow...
but today is a breather ...
I'm looking forward to the great MA2A skills and stories!

Prayers and best wishes for your friend to get well soon
Thanks Chuck, and thanks for keeping tabs on me in my absence, much appreciated. Sorry for the challenges with your friends health, you're a good man and a great friend, but I already knew that.
