I had a surgical procedure yesterday and they told me not to do anything with email, or a computer for the rest of the day because the anesthetic can cause people to do weird things, like buy cars and boats........ Maybe I could have used that to pick up another airplane.................Naaaaa, Sheila never would have bought that excuse............. So, I'll blame the double post on that, but the lens is at least twice as great as I had hoped.
I'm off to do my weekly shoot in Burleson, then back to HQ for a gentleman from the east coast who is doing an aviation podcast on me. He's associated with AOPA and wants to talk about my life in aviation and how my business fits with all of that.

There is "something" going around in my area Jim! Suzanne has been sick and I have had problems that age doesn't have anything to do with the malady. That is RARE!

Now he is not the AOPA here in Frederick, MD is he Jim? The HQ is 10 minutes away...

If the A2A meetup for Friday is nice and they still have a seat, I may just do A2A on Friday. For the amount of $$$$ it costs, I want to have some certainty that the willing participants are of my interest. I would like to shoot something different from what I did the last two times but this airshow's lineup doesn't have military jets that I haven't shot A2A before. If I had unlimited budget, it would be a different story.
These are the military performers at the show:
The Blue Angels: I don't think they will do A2A so that's out of the question.
USAF F-16 demo: I shot plenty of F-16s with missiles in Denmark last year, so another F-16 doesn't have a lot of appeal to me.
F-18 Super Hornets: Already did that last year in Sun N Fun.
F-35A, did plenty of that in Denmark last year.
F-35C. doesn't look that different from the F-35A
I am not even sure how many of the above will be willing to do A2A. On my bucket list is the F-22. This company was able to get a B-1B to do A2A for 30 minutes last year. That must have been quite a sight. I got very few good shots of the day time regular airshow in Sun N Fun last year, the heat shimmering was just too much. If I do manage to go to Sun N Fun next month, I hope I will have the new Sony 400-800 in my hand by then. I sold my 200-600 already in anticipating of getting the 400-800.

I don't have double wallets. Like they say, money is not the problem, the problem is no money. Like I said, if I am willing to spend the $$$$, I would want to shoot something I haven't shot before. If they tell me there is an unsold seat I can have for half of the price, I may grab it.. The airshow itself has evening show on Wed and Sat, like the one you, Jeff and I saw in Sacramento last year, I think I will enjoy that a lot.
