I don't believe I need one, but they had a new RF 35 with a whole new focus system and it was so smooth in manual focus, never felt anything like it. I put it on the C400 and played "focus puller", it was pretty incredible. I hope that they aren't going to come out with a whole new RF lens line with that system, I couldn't resist.
I learned a few new tidbits about the C400 this morning. There is an app that allows you to control the camera, actually numerous C400's if you need to, simultaneously, all on your phone or iPad. So, theoretically, you could put a camera at the end of a runway and control it from the sidelines. You could do a multiple camera interview and control the cameras easily from your phone.
The C400 gets a bit beefy with that 24-105 on it, but it is still very manageable. The more that I learn about it, the more I wonder why it isn't priced double what it is. The camera has more features than the Sony Murano that sells for $26,000. The Canon C500 MKII is double the price with outdated features. I think Canon just wanted to make a splash and we are the beneficiary.
My Canon guy is going to bring his RF24-105 out to the hangar week after next so we can play with it. The Canon Cinema Rep said that I should have my camera by mid-September.

Be curious to see the still grabs out of that setup.

This is a first, Reuters asked me to give them my professional opinion about an image of Air Force 2 on the ramp somewhere with a huge crowd in the foreground. The person was a fact checker for Reuters. Her question was , "could depth of field or lens choice have influenced this image?"
The crowd was clearly ai'd into the picture because you could see an empty ramp reflected in the engine nacelles and the fuselage. Whether my opinion ever sees the light of day, who knows, but at least they asked.
Here's the scary part, those people "ai'd" into the photo...can vote! (...and I am not talking about real people.)
Went to the show in Latrobe, Pa with a friend. The lineup was pretty limited but my friend had never seen an F-35, so i took him. Otherwise I wouldn't drive 195 miles (one way) just to see that.

Just fantastically beautiful Douglas!

True That Ray! I'm from Chicago, (don't claim it), where Mayor Daley's campaign teams would drive through cemeteries and write down all the eligible voters names for the Cook County voting rolls. Look at all the great governance decades of cheating has brought to The Windy City...........Karma.

Thank you Dan! This is fun to watch:
I had a F16D and F22 Raptor buzz by me 2 days ago because of Camp David! The ground thundered and my plates and glasses rattled. They were about 20-25,000 ft high but well enough to see the shapes!
Jim's nephew's helo unit flies by every week and if I am out in the yard they give me a "waggle-n-a-wave"!!! Great bunch of guyz!!!
I have a painted wooden military unit flag on my shed's roof so they know it's me!!!
Great video!

Baked my brains out this morning while I worked on geo-fencing quirks, but I got the mission finished. This is Denton Enterprise Airport, directly west of KTKI about 48 nautical..........................
