Well, folks, the Danish Air Force Show got postponed to 2025. I was looking forward to doing the air to air for the F-4, F-16, F-35, Tornado, Gripen and so on. Counting the chicken too early.

Yeah, a tripod would have been a really bad idea, actually it was all pretty much a bad idea.............
I like that diving move, Jim. If everything goes as planned, I will see the Blue Angels next week for the first time this year in North Carolina, then at the Naval Academy for the rehearsal and real show later this month. I am very tempted to get the Sony A9III just to try it for the opposing passes at 120 FPS, but the 24 MP is holding me back! I need more MP for birding.
Will definitely see the Blue Angels IMAX movie that's showing in two weeks.
For shxts and giggles, I am posting a few diving shots I took yesterday . The ospreys dove multiple times, often by the time I realized they were starting to dive, I couldn't locate the osprey in my view finder at 600mm, or even when I was able to put the bird in the frame , I tend to lose it in the last 1/2 second before it touched the water. I am simply not "fluid" enough to track them and keep them in the frame when they are diving.
You all have a great weekend.

Where is the "Love!" button when you need it?! Great images Douglas!! I'm with you on the 24MP, just cannot bring myself to drop back. Really bummed that Canon seems to have abandoned their plans for an 80-100MP version of something.

Just fantastic compositions here brother! I am very familiar with ospreys. I go to Blackwater NWR south of Cambridge and there are many there!
Our cameras need a "HUD", heads up display, for capturing fast moving subjects!
Again SUPER images all! I see the 1 osprey is banded.

I too am VERY disappointed that Canon has not come out with a very hig mpx/resolution body for me to move from dslr to mirrorless Jim!
That probably would be my last camera purchase while still on earth!
You guyz ok from all the Texas rain?
Say "Heh" to my buddy please!
Dan
I know, it's surprising given all the "leaks" over the last three or four years that indicated they were planning on dominating the market. Seems, as we say here in Texas, "All hat and no cattle"..............
The rain has been good for the landscape, and it appears that it will continue for a few more weeks. Really hasn't caused us any problems, the folks in tornado alley, northwest Texas and Oklahoma have gotten the brunt of the real bad stuff.
James is doing great, we've been working on a lot of projects together. The other day we had an a/c condensation drain plug up and cause a leak. I called the a/c guy and he wasn't here for five minutes before James had his tool bag all loaded up and was standing there ready to help. Truth is, he would have been more help than the clueless a/c guy. We ended up troubleshooting and fixing it after he left. Calling a "professional" these days doesn't mean what it used to. This guy was talking about replacing a pvc pipe, ripping out drywall and our master bath cabinets. The real fix was just cleaning out a couple of clogged fittings under the sink, thousands of $$$$ compared to about an hour of dismantling, cleaning, and reassembling the connections. So much for the"Pro's"........
