A stunning shot. I am surprised no one has mentioned this yet but if you Photoshopped a few ornaments into that tree this shot would make an excelent christmas card picture. It makes an absolutely stunning seasonal picture without the Christmas angle too.
I have to agree with the others,...finally, a unique shot of Bryce. I love the way you made a poster type display out of this. I'll have to attempt that on some of mine. Great shot, Varina!

and I love your picture. I also wonder how long did you stay out to get this shot? I used to live in SLC and still love seeing the snowing picture, but don't like the cold that freeze my butt waiting for "da shot" ! :-)
This photo is why I want to make as much money as possible in the next few years so I can do nothing but try and get one of these myself when I tell the corporate types to kiss my backside! That is awesome.

Thanks Sam. In this case, we got up at 4 am and drove to Bryce from Kanab, Utah. We generally spend a few hours shooting a location like this. I believe we arrived at Bryce around 6:30 or 7 and shot until 9:30 or 10. I'm afraid I was more focused on the camera than the time. It was very cold. My fingers were thoroughly frozen by the time we returned to the car. But I was loving every minute of it. This is what it's all about.

Lol. Thanks Fred. I carry my own bags, though. It's good exercise. And I like the weight of camera on my back - or in my hands. Strange, maybe. But there it is.

Varina forgot to mention that we had to drive in the snow storm all the way from Kanab to Bryce. After 2:30 hour of driving and couple of fish tails along the way, we finally arrived at Bryce just to find that the roads were not plowed (covered with about 8-12 inches of snow). After helping a guy from Vegas who was stuck in the snow, we continued to Sunset point. We got there just in time for Varina to take this shot.
