With the announcement of an IS version of this lens, the price of this well-loved lens took a hit recently. Personally, I do think that indeed a price correction (a term borrowed from the stock market) is just fine. It doesn't affect me since I am not selling mine but it would make it more affordable and more people can enjoy the sharpness and bokeh this lens has to offer. While waiting for the new lens to become available, let's see some images taken with the well-proven lens.
The first two images were captured at f/1.8 and the rest between f/2.5 and f/2.8 using a FF camera:

AGeoJO: Thank you from both of us, I think what Fluff is saying if I may say so is that the title gets abbreviated to say "Lets see your images....." I think if you where to rearrange it a bit like "200 1.8 Let's see your images" That might get people to include more picts that own the lens, Just me 2 cents Thanks again, Ron

Joshua,
I am disappointed, I thought you were a "gearhead" like me just collecting equipment. The fact that you actually even take pictures with them is a big surprise to me.
But putting the joke aside, your images with the 200 f/1.8 are absolute knockouts. Gorgeous images with sharpness, crispiness and bokeh which have impacts that takes your breath away.
Outstanding pictures, congrats!

There seems to be a lot of ego stroking in this thread but to be honest, other than some pleasing bokeh, these shots are not "great, wonderful, awe-inspiring or anything else", IMHO. Most of them look poorly focused and bland in content and color. I am not trying to be critical but I can't stand when people make this lens some sort of demigod with magical properties. Sorry, I just don't see it.

Same here. I am actually shocked to have learned Joshua is exposing his venerated "chubby" aka 200 f/1.8 to adversities which often accompany picture taking. :worried:

Wow I guess we need you to show us all what a properly focused shot looks like, Let's see some!
