I'd believe Canon over Amazon at this juncture...,my guess is Canon got wind, slapped Amazon and said "It's our product, we announce it - take that down"...and then released the pages they had hidden (chmod to 600 or something like that with mget blocked) but made sure links to other pages weren't uploaded yet...
This is just a marketing frenzy that they are trying to build up and we are unwitting accomplices...kind of can't help it though, eh? Better than caffeine!
Here's all the Canon pages and images compiled - care to join me in salivating?
I have been drooling over the live view of the MKIII but can't afford that body. A 40D is just what I need. I shoot a lot of macro and live view is a great thing for that.

Looks awesome, I'm pretty stoked, and being that I shoot 90% landscapes, I'm super excited about the "Highlight Tone Priority" and the "Large 3.0-inch LCD monitor and advanced Live View Function". Awesome additions and worth upgrading for me just for that. But all in all an awesome addition and upgrade, really looking forward to using this camera.
Canon Australia says the 40D will be available with the 17-85 IS, No mention of it being packaged with the 28-135 IS, So it looks like its either a USA pack, or just one of the store packages.
